We enjoyed utilizing the Eisenhower Interstate System this past weekend in a quick jaunt over to the western side of the state.  We had not been to downtown Memphis in a few years so it was nice seeing a semi-revitalized downtown area from our last visit there.  Beale Street was EMPTY Sunday afternoon as you can see from the picture but it's fun seeing all the history there and watching the ducks march at The Peabody.  If you haven't seen that, take a leisurely afternoon tea and enjoy their walk.

There and back in two days...it's nice to know that after the health issues, I can still enjoy the saddle time after 980 miles.  Gotta get to work on the next big trip...

I ain't ready for a trailer just yet...

I ordered yet another windshield from John at Freedom Shields! After adding the 13" Legend Revo A's and my new Corbin Solo seat, I found that the current windshield that is on my bike from John is a little short, So I ordered #7 from him. IMHO he has the best quality, wind management, and customer service of anyone in the business. John also gives a discount to anyone who mentions this site. I ordered a 14" Sport Touring in Light Gray tint. It should be here in a week or so.

Just finished a week of riding the Blue Ridge Parkway near Maggie Valley and around the Smokey Mountains so the wife can see leaves change colors about 1k miles total.  Color change is slow this year about two weeks behind, so am being "forced" to return in a couple weeks.

Agree on the Freedom Shields, just put a new one on before the trip and worked great and very clear.

Bike has been busy for the past two weeks. 

On the Saturday the 12th a woman on a cell in her cage came over on me and hit me.  Mess up fairing and engine guard on the left side, and then bike went down on right side.  I did not get hurt at all, so I'm thankful.

Then rode said bike down for Biketorberfest, nice 1378 mile trip. 

Yesterday dropped the bike off so they could clean it, then today they will be doing the estimates on the bike.  Adjuster will go see it Wednesday to make sure he agrees with the dealer on the damage.

Was not at all calm at the time.  She split the minute she hit me.  Did not get a tag.

That said, after thinking about it, I did calm way down.  I have so much to be thankful for.  I did not get hurt, the result could have been so much worse.  The bike can be replaced or fixed, people can not.

That sucks.  Sorry Dave.  No matter how proactive we try to be and how much we watch other people's front wheels, heads, and anything else that might help there is some levels of stupid and/or simple error we just can't protect ourselves from.  After the fact you and the bike rode away from the incident and that is always worth declaring as a victory.  Hope the 'fest was fun and the bike fixes up well for you  .
