Now if they would put a larger version of this motor in the new Rode Glide!

Very similar to Project Nova from 30 plus years ago.

Dealers need this bike bad for Riders Edge classes.  Plus it will give them a new product at a price point way below the Sportster.  I like it from standpoint of gives a lot more folks a chance to own a Harley.
That is a lot of motorcycle for Rider's Edge. Way, way too much for a motorcycle virgin to start on IMO. The Buell Blast has been blasted (pun intended) for too much torque for a beginner.

I know these seem pretty tame to us but for a newbie it is intimidating. Way more bike than state sponsored training sites would ever use.

The "money" side looks OK but found this shot of the primary side and all I have to say is.....well, pictures are worth a thousand words.

I like it. Well done Harley Davidson. And,...somehow I have the feeling this bike will not have a lot of problems. It will be a good dependable workhorse. I want to ride one!

Agreed, it will be a good bike for that program.

I kinda like it... especially this version...

well, it is orange & black. :D

Seriously though... for something to use for running around locally, maybe some day mountain/canyon carving, also could be a starter bike for some. I can see upgrading the exhaust (black Thunder Header), upgrading the suspension, and possibly having a fun local bike. :nixweiss:

If they want to use it to get into new markets, they better hope it doesn't have problems.  Really, how many people are going to have the tolerance for instantaneous recalls at introduction and water leaks that CVO owners seem to have?

They need younger customers = less money for first time buyers. They also need to attract female riders.

Face it the average age of a HD rider today is old, most of us are around 50. (Myself included)
I hope they succeed but I will be surprised if they don't have some issue.

Not likely.  Some sources have already said it would be made in India where they already have a factory assembling KD (knock down) kits of other Harley models.  I'd expect to see a plant in China before you would see Harley build them here.

So, it'll be just like our bikes.   :2vrolijk_21:  Motorcycle-USA.com: "Street 750 and 500 models sold in the US, Mexico and Canada will be assembled (engine and bike) at Harley-Davidson's Kansas City facility. Those sold internationally will be manufactured in India."

I don't think it's ugly at all.  Maybe not as perky lookin' as my '58 Hummer was, but nice for a 500 cc bike these days.  Think about all of those Honda Rebels that kinda looked like a Sporty, but not really, and were used as learner bikes.  I'd rather have one of these in a heartbeat.
