No problem with the heated grips!

It is a good idea to have service manual to help you thru the whole process.
It makes it a lot easier to tear it all apart!

Happy New Year!

Make a good diagram of the colored wires at the connections before you take them apart. Write down the colors then check them again before you take them apart. 1 wrong wire & you'll be tearing it apart again! By then your patience will be wearing thin!

Thanks guys for all the advise. Bars on the way got plenty of time to take pictures and document everything it's cold here in Kansas. I've rebuild small blocks in my younger days so hopefully this goes good. Heck my dads a TV repairman he's got an awesome set of tools I can fix it.

One tip I picked up from the service manual when I helped a buddy change out his bars is to use Windex as a lubricant for the wires when you pull them through the new bars.  Never would have thought of it but it works great.

About to hit the go button on this purchase as well.  Did you decide on the 575's or 578's?  Your Fast Times quote brings back good memories!!

.      Went with the 575's just need alittle extra and as much cold weather riding as I do I don't want them above the fairing. Plus I just don't like the looks of the taller bars even if they are more comfortable. And thanks the quote just hit me.

Get yourself a bicycle chain and attach your cables to the end of the chain.  Drop the chain through your handlebars and when the other end of chain is out, pull gently and it will be the fastest cables ever pulled through handlebars!

Are the 575's or 578's compatable with the 2014 faring?

Wild 1, website says the 578's will work on the 2014's!

575's will not work!

Just so we're clear....The 575s don't require changing the brake line or the clutch line?  Just making sure, as I had to change both when I put them on my FLHTK.
