Lowering a limited

What's actually involved with lowering one of these. contemplating buying one but have to address the stubby short leg issue first.

Lowering has come up over and over.  Search option above should help you some.  There aren't that many options.  Shorter shocks (less suspension travel isn't a great idea), adjustable air suspension or lowering blocks in the rear and shorter guts in forks for the front.

There isn't anything different or special about lowering a Limited versus lowering one of the previous model year Ultra's or Limited's, other than the new for 2014 front forks with the larger diameter fork tubes.  So all the previously cussed and discussed options that applied to the rear of the previous models would also apply to the 2014 Limited, but so far I haven't seen anything in the catalog for the front.  I'm sure both Harley and the aftermarket will offer something.  You might try calling the folks at Progressive and asking them if they have or plan to have one of their lowering kits available for the new forks.

IMHO you are always better off looking at reshaped seats and footwear choices first, before screwing up the ride and handling by lowering the suspension.

Thanks for the replies.... Already did the search option and have seen numerous threads non of which specified a 2014 which is what I am interested in. Just wanting to make sure that nothing has changed and that the typical will work with this model.

I had originally posted this on the "Limited" page because I wanted answers specific to the 2014 limited.

Rooster, contemplating purchasing a 2014 Limited.

Don't lower it. You will make the ground clearance even worse. It is bad as it is with the foot boards scraping in turns.

If you have to lower it get a custom sadle but don't ruin the suspension and ground clearance.
