Having trouble with the programming! I tried it one way and it says my software is out of date but when using the software update it says everything is up to date.

I tried it another way and it says I have no serial port selected but it will not let me select a port!! Grrrr the rest of this project has been super simple but this part is taking longer than the rest!!

I tried calling Fullsac this morning but they are not open on weekends. I am afraid to try starting the bike now because I am not sure what program if any is in the ecm.

First thing you need to do is make sure you hook the interface up to the bike with all programs closed. Then run the "HD06 Firmware updater" program. Follow the onscreen directions to do this. Then open Mastertune and load the calibration supplied to you by Fullsac. Follow there directions once you've got this far. Should go pretty easy.

Thanks Steve! I will try that in the morning. One question when I do the firmware update do I need to have the ignition on or off?

What are you stuck with?

I had the run/off switch off on mine initially!

The updates were the only time consuming detail that I recall... other than that , it was save the original file and upload the new one...

Steve

Ok I updated the firmware thing and it appears that my update ran.

The bike started and ran afterwards. Just wish I could take it for a ride to feel the difference but unfortunately a couple inches of snow over night ruined that idea!

How can you tell if the Fullsac program really did load and that is what is controlling the bike now?

I was stuck with the programming but once I updated the firmware and not just the software I think everything worked! How do you tell if the Fullsac tune is running the bike now?

Use Mastertune and do all th esteps to program the bike but STOP on the programming screen. Set the drop down menu to "Get ECM Data" and when you <click> on run command button it will fill in the 4 boxes above the button. One of those boxes will have the Calibration part number. If th eFullsac calibration is inthe ECM it will have three letters followed by three numbers then a "-". The Factory calibration number is most of the time always numbers with a possible letter at the end.

I saw that those numbers did change so I guess I am good to go! Thanks now can you make the snow and ice go away and get the temp over 50 so I can go for a ride?

Steve

Maybe you can answer this question, maybe you cannot. When I took the original equipment baffles out of the mufflers the packing on one side just disintergrated while the other side remained completely in tack in one sheet. I put the baffles in with no packing but it was just too loud for me so I put the packing back in. The one side was easy but the other side I sort of pieced together. I do like the sound better with the packing.

is there any place one can purchase the packing?

Also what are the odds someone would pay for my original equipment X pipe? LOL

Steve may have a better solution, but many have used this material with great success and you can "tune" the sound to some extent depending on how much of it you use.

I wish I had know about that.  I used this:
