This coming Friday I get to pickup my new to me bike but it desperately needs help with exhaust.  As of right now it has a Fullsac header with stock slipons.  Now my question is are Fullsac 2.25" SD even close to Rinehart 4" in sound level?  I like a loud bike but still want to be able to hear the stereo

That being your goal you may consider pumping up your stereo?

Just for comparisons sake......
I just installed the DX header and the 2.25 cores. I chose the 2.25 because I think they will go with my upcoming build better than the others (my opinion) I LOVE LOUD... but..... Now that I have joined the geezer squad with this limited I want to actually hear the sound system, at least to a higher extent than not.

I wrapped the inside of the stock muffs with only one thickness of the stock wrapping held in place with galvanized fencing. Bike sounds great, but. At speed, I can hear the front speakers but it's not a nice quality sound and my BSR cannot enjoy the sound system unless going slow.
I will be re-wrapping to tone it down a bit, I'll try a few different options until I get it to where I want it.

My friend just bought a set of 2.25 Fulsac cores from this forum. Now that they are on, ( SE street glide with a true dual V&H )  They are a bit louder then my Extreme True Dual Rineharts with 4 inch cans.  But seem to have a nicer, richer deeper sound. I like the quality of the sound, but a tad to loud for me. My system is about as loud as I will go.  Potato Potato Potato Potato Potato.  :P

No issues running with out packing. Don't tell anyone, but our new 2.5 Power cores are on the shelf. These are the biggest and loudest cores I have ever made and are replacing the 2.25 SD in my product line. Not being a fan of loud myself, I have shied away from building louder cores that generate more noise with no additional power. But the demand for "loud" has been overwhelming and sales were going elsewhere. Want to annoy others? I'm here to help!

You are spot on about being louder only if it increases power but as a businessman you have to give 'em what they want. I have lost count of the friends who run straight drag pipes for the cool factor, power be damned.

The bigger motors will march right through the TQ dip. A stock 96" er would have a serious flat spot!
I have not dynoed the 2.5 core yet. Price is the same as the smaller 2.25s.

Please post results from the same bike of the difference in the cores if you would.

Thank you,

Steve,

Just got off the phone with "Kerry" and ordered the 2.5" Power Cores, Screens and tee shirt!

I'll give you a progress report once installed! I still have the 2.25" cores, just wanted to try these out.

Thanks,

YB

Steve, I've got a quick question. Playing loud-devil's advocate... If I were to remove the wrapping, would I still need the screens I bought from you? It seems like they might rattle loose in the can without the packing. The sound with the 2.5" baffles with screen and wrap is amazingly deep, I'd just like to see how much louder it is without the insulation.

Screens and packing go together. Pull both and try it. Ride it wide open up and down your street a few times and count the fingers.
One finger straight up indicates a noticeable increase.  :2vrolijk_21:

I'm joking. Wait untill your next to a cop to nail it, he'll let you know.Lol..

Hi all,

I just bought a 14 CVO RK and wanted to change the pipes.  The dealer recommended S&S over Fullsac.  I have so many good reviews on Fullsac but the dealer suggested that the S&S could be better because it is a true dual pipe whereas the FS is 2 in 1.  Anyone used an S&S before?  I would appreciate any opinion on either option.  Tx
