Here's my take....when I was growing up, we rode in the back window of the car (plus only lap belts and no airbags), drank out of the garden hose, rode bicycles without helmets or pads, rode go-carts with little/no brakes and no helmet and generally had a great childhood.  I learned to drive from my dad in an old Ford Econoline pick-up with three on the tree around the backroads at home...I was 8.

Would I do this?   :nixweiss:  Probably not these days as somebody would see it, I would be in jail for child endangerment and the kid would be custody of the state  >:(
However, my daughter was 6 when she rode with me the first time (but didn't drive it).  This father/son had a straight road, no traffic and looks like this kid had done this before (maybe on a drive around the house?).  He handled the big HD pretty well....
X2 Agree. I was thrown to the floor of a 57' Chevy from the rear window package shelf many times. I drove Grandad's Ford tractor lots of times like that, but not that fast. I would not let little man ride without proper gear, leather or at least long pants and shirt and gloves. Had the roadrash it's not fun.

My sons 1st ride was at 5 on the tank of my dirt bike.  That confirmed to me that the MC gene is hereditary.  He went on to be filmed 3 times by the Discovery Channel for Sport Bike Stunts.  He settled down, got married, and has two kids and no MC.  Son 3 and Daughter 15 months.

So being the conservative person I am, I posted the video on FB and told him his son & I could beat he 6 year old.

It can't be helped when it is hereditary..........

Where is the mitigated risk in the video aside from the half helmet?

lets see, how about wide open, straight road, no traffic.  it isn't like he was in houston rush hour traffic..... or having the dude lane split in cali.  putting on long pants (recommended) wouldn't really be mitigating the risk, only the consequences of said risk.  imo only.  if you don't like the way this guy is raising his kid, then raise yours differently.
