Lots of good choices here. My Featherlite 6X12 is 13 yrs old and probably 75,000 miles and it still looks new.  Keep it in a garage though

I've got a Pace 8 x 16 it works well. 7 feet height, pulled behind Suburban and 3/4 ton trucks pulls great. Set up for three baggers. Pace has differant grades of quality, mine is the upper end with the standards set on 16" centers and marine grade wood on floor and walls. Hauled everything from bikes, appliances, plumbing fixtures, scissor lifts no problem. Guessing about 70K miles. I've heard good things about the haulmarks, sorry you had issues.

OK........I see you have the (power).......not sure about the "control".  One of my Raleigh buddies that built a lot of street rods, had a diesel Ford pu. and once he got a trailer similar to what you're talking about,  it scared the hell out of him.  He said he was all over the road.  The answer was a similar pu with the "dually" rear tire setup.

I guess your experience with handling must be different than his was......... :drink:

I hearya , Scooter. Would love to have a dually but a pick-up just limits to much. Hauled straight thru to Sturgis last year, smooth at 75 and 2 dudes snoozing on a full size airbed. Gotta load carefully and chinchum down.

X 2 on the Neo Trailer- I picked up a 5 x 8 with slanted V nose last year and trailered down to NC. No issues, lightweight and so far, seems well built. They are out of Michigan I believe. I'll see if I have a pic of it.

Well, my first ever attempt to resize a photo and it didn't quite work, lol. Just click on the link to view it if you want. Oh, and it's all aluminum with radial tires, and 3/4 plywood floor.

He might have been too light on the front of his trailer. Too much weight on the back unloads the weight on the front and yepper it's one hell of a ride. I have a dually now but back in 2000 when I bought my 8x24 Pace Shadow all I had was a 75 Chevy C-20 with a warmed up 350. It was slow going and I used a lot of fuel but I made sure to balance the load. Made 3 round trips from SOCAL to north of Seattle at 10,000 lbs total trailer weight (north leg loaded, deadhead on return). Load equalizer hitch is a must have item and plan your routes to avoid traffic. It seemed like a good idea at the time but in retrospect I was way overloaded. Surprised I didn't kill the engine or trans on the Grapevine or Sisques but then I built a balanced and blueprinted 355 sbc with heavy duty parts. Still runs so I must have done something right.

I had a Pace and the welds in the frame looked like a third grader did them. Never had any problems with it tho. I have seen the Lark and they are a very cheap looking trailer. Everyone I know with a Haulmark has never had any issues??

Noticed the same thing on my Pace. Called the salesman and he got a local shop to reweld the axles. Couple of other areas I wasn't happy about.

Ok folks, I know a lot of you out there are completly against trailering your bikes and I can appreciate that. Unfortunately, not everyone can ride 10,12,15 hours a day cross country. So please forgive my necessity to trailer. That being said, I really need help from the forum in deciding on a trailer to purchase.

Last weekend I bought a Haulmark v-nose Low Hauler and I could't get 2 miles down the road (literally) without the outer skin peeling back. And that was after a 5 1/2 drive from New Orleans to Houston, hotel stay, gas and a days vacation. Long story short, I had to get my money back and UTC/Haulmark refused to "make things right". So Haulmark, Wells Cargo and Featherlite are all OUT!!!!
I am looking at Bendron, Lark, Pace and Continental Cargo. Can anyone please help?

  >:(

If you got your money back, what exactly do you mean they refused to "make things right?"  What did you expect them to do?

You should have got your money back, a letter of apology, all your expenses paid, the dealer shot, and his first born's son as your personal slave for 2 years.
