Recreation facilities on the property or in the surrounding area include a heated outdoor pool, nearby Ingonish Beach, hiking wilderness trails, lawn games, whale watching, Aveda Spa, and boat cruises. The Cabot Trail is named after the explorer John Cabot who landed in Atlantic Canada in 1497. Construction of the initial route was completed in 1932.
