Hi from Florida & my future CVO Delux

I am a retired USAF Captain and a retired Software Engineer from the Boeing Co. living in West Melbourne, FL.

I am a 72 year old grandfather looking into his first Harley purchase and am very interested in other's honest reaction to their bike purchases.

I will attach a photo of me and my bride atop the mystical CVO Deluxe that I have my eye on.

I am mainly interested in the cost and time involved in the periodic maintenance schedule.
Secondly, how does it handle? The handle bars seem a bit high - even with the height adjustments.
Thirdly, is performance. Dose it run like a dream or does it seem to hold-back a bit? The rev sound didn't rattle the roof.

Would really appreciate your input -- I am about to break the bank to purchase this little jewel.

Welcome to the site glad to have you join us. :2vrolijk_21: Also thanks for your service and congrats on your retirement. You mention this is your first Harley but didn't say if you have ridden any other bikes in the past so not sure how to respond to your question regarding performance. Harley's aren't crotch rockets but they can be improved on from stock performance. You also mention maintenance are you looking to do that yourself or have it serviced at dealer or independent? The short version of the maintenance schedule is first @ 1k then @5k, and every 5k thereafter. Not all items are serviced every 5k but there is something that the recommended maintenance schedule calls for at those intervals.

Take a look at the model specific board for the bike you are interested in and also the exhaust, suspension, and twin cam board for information on those components.
