Had the recall work done on mine Friday. Funny, the servicing dealer just called to tell me about it. Harley has yet to mention it.

Important Safety Recall # 0157
« Reply #17 on: June 30, 2014, 02:21:17 PM »

Just got a letter from H-D regarding a recall on 2014 CVO Touring motorcycles, problem with front brake line.  Could get pinched between fuel tank and frame.  Don't remember seeing this topic posted before.  I have '14 CVO Road King, this will be recall #2, first one was the clutch issue.

Second Recall on '14 CVO Road King

It's the front brake routing this time, that could cause the front brake to lock up!

I got the recall notice yesterday on my SGS.
My dealer is 50 mi. away.  I made the hundred mi. round trip about a week ago to get the radio fixed.  It has HD's hidden antenna.
They tried to do some flash upgrade and I had to wait for half the day to get it done.  The radio comes on by itself MOST but not all of the time when the bike is started up- even though The radio had been turned off.  Plus it gets the worst reception I have ever seen.
After the wasted day, the damn thing works the same!  They didn't accomplish anything!
-Wasted a great riding day though.
It looks like I get to waste another one soon.

First dealer I called said they are waiting on "kits" from the MoCo so they can't do anything till those kits come in.

got told by my dealer that the inspection will take 1-1/2 hours, but if it needs parts then it will be 7-10 days

Just so we know:  Which dealer is saying this?  Might also be worth an entry in the "lousy dealers" thread:  http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=15150.0

Called my dealer last Saturday after coming back from EU. He said bring it in. Arrived around noon same Saturday, inspected and repaired (tie wraps) in about one hour. Just enough to grab some coffee and cookies.

Just Received a Recall Notice
« Reply #22 on: July 07, 2014, 01:06:26 PM »

I just received a recall notice in the mail due to a brake line fraying issue. I may have missed where someone else posted about this but just wanted to share.  I don't know what models are impacted other than mine.

The recall states it will take about an hour to fix unless the damage requires replacement of the line. I will be calling the dealer later this week to see about an appointment. Everything always takes longer than the dealer says so I guess I will have to plan for that too!

I received my recall notice yesterday. My bike is having its first service on Friday so hopefully it will be sorted then. I am in Australia.

From that report:

"The company knows of five crashes and two minor injuries related to the defect, which it discovered last fall through warranty claims."

So let's see if I've got this right.  We have a defect which has resulted in five crashes that we know of and we knew about it in fall 2013.  But we didn't notify customers until halfway through 2014.  Hmmmmm.
