From that report:

"The company knows of five crashes and two minor injuries related to the defect, which it discovered last fall through warranty claims."

So let's see if I've got this right.  We have a defect which has resulted in five crashes that we know of and we knew about it in fall 2013.  But we didn't notify customers until halfway through 2014.  Hmmmmm.

Jerry

The lawyers took that long trying to figure a way for the Moco to bring out a new and improved accessory in order to correct the problem and at the same time make the customer pay for it.

Does anyone actually have a copy of the Detailed information of the recall issue? I took my tank off and see only one place where the line could get out of position and be pinched from the tank. It has a zip tie in place but I added a couple more there and in another place just to be sure. I don't have time to take to the dealer before my trip and I have lights under my tank and they wouldn't take the time to re stick them properly. So I did it myself. Unless there's something I do not see I have no issues.

Yup.  I also love the fact that the recalled bikes were built up to May 7th of 2014, even though they knew about the problem in the fall of 2013.  You mean it took the rocket scientists at Harley from last fall to the second week of May 2014 to figure out where to place a zip tie?  Or did it just take that long to get the bean counters to approve the $0.02 cost increase (for the zip tie)?

As hard as it is to think even less of them than I do already, these clowns seem determined to give me more reasons on a regular basis.

I have my appointment this Friday. Expect to be in and out in one hour. The dealer matched my needs for the appointment. I will let everyone know how it goes!

That was dated July 10. I assume this is already taken care of by now. Took them a half hour or so to do mine.

That one has been out since Jun 2014

And here is another one...

And there is a more recent one discussed here: http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=97304.0
That involves the clutch master cylinder.
