May as well debate oil. Those threads are good for pegging the "ridiculous meter," too.

Not allowed here.

Except for the period when we had a person giving us our daily dose of - well never mind - glad that was stopped.

instead of flaming me what is the definition between poser and biker  :nixweiss:

i am not telling anyone what they are or not, i really don't care who is what.

1. I have a leather vest with patches. My patches are for rides I've been on or rallies I have attended. No swear words or finger signals. I only wear it on my roadtrips, not as my daily active wear.
2. I don't wrench on my bike but have added a few accessories on by myself. I had to cobble a foot shifter back together on the road once using my little tool sack.
3. I have my bike serviced every 2.5k mi
4. I have 53k mi on my 2011 FLTRUSE
5. I quit smoking 4.5 yrs ago, so no stoogies for me.
6. I have a beard but I usually trim it once a month.
7. I hop from National Park to National Park, not bar to bar.

Poser or Biker ?

Btw, either answer is fine by me cause I don't really care what you think when it comes to the way I enjoy my time motorcycling.

There is no difference. We're all posers and we're all bikers.

And WTH is it with people that need to "brand" other people as being this or that. Holy crap people get over yourselves.

Have met good people from this site.  Some very good who have become very good friends.  Even a couple of brothers.  As the site and the events got bigger that got harder to do; at least for me.  Just too many bodies.  But, again, that's just me.

It's not unlike the big rally events though.  Haven't done Daytona or Liconia or Sturgis in years.  Too much BS of a type I don't have patience for.  Too much stupid chaos (not all chaos is bad--but the rallies sure can be a mess).  None of it matches just being on the the road or sharing it with a few friends or brothers.

Twolaner, you expressed my thoughts exactly! Used to enjoy the rallies 20 years ago, now......wife and I struggle to even go to BB&BBQ due to all the crowds and it's just an hour from the house. Give me a two lane back road that goes to nowhere and a couple brothers along with us. Love the feeling of the biggest decision of the day is....Do we turn left or right and does anyone care.

But it's still comes down to each his own.

I agree. I could not care less but apparently I touched on some nerves. One guy even called me out if we meet at Maggie Valley. Something to the tone that "I can show him what a real biker is". Guess nobody should have an opinion that does not align with his. I could go on with so many funny (well in my mind) comments here but it would just feed the fire of sensitive people and then even more people want to hit me/ kick me/ shot me at MV and I will be to busy so I can't ride all the roads with a speed limit of 35 mph). (Come on that is funny in some countries)

That describes me exactly also.  I'm an hour from Fayetteville also and I stopped doing that crowd after got so darned congested too.  Comfortable roads and a small bunch of good friends all targeting some greasy spoon diner that will leave me riding off in the sunset is about as good as it can get :2vrolijk_21: .

And we have plenty of both, two lane roads and greasy spoons in our area that still need explored to worry about than if I am this or that. Wife and I have been discussing wondering off in your area fora couple days. Think she said something about a hwy 14 maybe????

Rotarywing how about a suggestion?
But before I offer that suggestion let me recap your last post to me.

Fair enough, looks like I overreacted,
Sorry for sounding like an ass

Rotarywing take a chill pill. No one is calling you out. No one is challenging you. You are on a site with a lot of men (and ladies) that share the same passions you have. Most everyone here has earned the right to ride these great CVO bikes we love. What did you think when you joined a site like this? Everyone was going to agree with you. Come on now, from reading a lot of your post even I know you know better than that.
So here's my suggestion. (actually two of them)

Before you get offended by something people type, relax, take a deep breath and chill. Wait till the next day to respond, your perspective may be different. Your response may change and if it doesn't, post away. One thing for certain, a great post or a chitty post is just a reflection of the poster.
Second thing, come to a GTG, you will have a blast, meet great people and the person you think is the most pompant arrogant asswipe may wind up being a good friend.
YES!
It has happened before.
Besides, you may meet me, I teach Royal Blue waxing techniques to those that own bikes that could use it.
I think you may qualify. And the worst thing that could happen, you next bike will be blue. Is that so bad?

Good comments.

Beleive me I am not offended by anyone and certainly not "up in arms". I am certainly not looking for anyone to agree with me. Been married for almost 20 years so I know that not everyone thinks like I.  :2vrolijk_21:

But again your comments are good.
