I'm a little confused here. I show it on page 425 and it's listed as PN 46287-04 Road King Saddlebag Lock Set. This is for the RK Custom models, which is what I thought the SERK is based on. There is no listing in my book for the PN you're referring to. Am I missing something here? I was planning to order the PN I just indicated for my SERK.

Must've just been a mistakenly looked up number Howie.  46297-04 is these things for an FX.

I checked the above part # and looked in P&A catalog on page indicated and found the same thing. When Nige first asked about the locks I was thinking he wanted someway to secure the bags from someone entering them much like those of us with hard bags secure our latches. I have seen a lock that can be placed on the leather strap/latches on a Softail Heritage that a friend of mines owns, and thought they were a MoCo part. I was unable to find anything like that in the P&A catalog, and not really sure they would work on the SERK's bag.

I'd like to find a lock for that as well. The lock in the catalog should allow me to keep the bags on overnight, but not store anything in them. Was thinking I'd probably wind up bring both bags inside overnight on a trip, rather than taking everything out. If you find anything to secure entry into the bags, please let us know. Thanks. Hoist!

They don't have the straps that hang down on the outside of the bag. The locks I was speaking of would fit over the strap part that is hanging past the buckle and go threw one of the holes in strap and lock to it. Wasn

After trying to look closely at the pic in the catalog, it appears that the lockset shown (PN 46287-04) might replace the button latch release? If it does this would secure the lid, which would also prevent the bag removal/theft. This makes sense (but they don't always do things that make sense). Does anyone know the answer? The pic in the catalog is small, but I've tried attaching it. Hoist!

Hoist,
I put these locks on my 05 custom king.  they work fine. you have to do a little drilling, cause you relocate the lock to the back of the bag.  they can be keyed to match your ign.
easy to do.

also,  the new serks have bag liners with handles. you can just pick them out and take them with you into a room, while the bags themselves stay on the bike.
