This CVO rode in my door with stock 255s and left with 54 Andrews and .030 head gaskets.
Thats it! No other parts. Just a little tune up. I'm looking really hard, but I only see a power gain?
The same power gain as the last one I did and the one before that? Weird, these 54s just keep working for me?
Must be all those Briggs and Strattons I hopped up as a kid. Lol..

SG

Looks like the key to your success is to change the head gasket. I wish I would have done that instead of just a bolt in. I guess I was just afraid of the getting base cylinder leaks again. I know you have done many of these without having a problem. Very nice dyno sheet

How about the S&S MR103? This looks to be a cam that will not sacrifice all that 255 grunt and pull longer mid range up. Has anyone tried this cam yet? With the longer duration exh. it seems like it would also reduce heat issues.

Hi Everyone, just got back from a 3k mile ride from Simi Valley Ca. to Thermopolis Wyoming, the plan was to go to Waterton Park in ALberta Canada, but the weather changed that. Maybe I am in the minority, but I am completely satisfied with my 255's and the fulsac stage one map with 1.75 baffles. Even with passenger and luggage my 09 pulls like a tractor from down low, and I can pass just about anything I want to. Also I feel like I am getting good mileage even fighting nasty wind and rainstorms  going up and down hills on freeway and scenic side roads I feel like I averaged about 40 MPG. Now if I could just figure out how to get rid of the valve train noise from 2200 to 2800. Ride Safe. CAHDBIKER

I really disliked the 255 . Did not suit my riding style at all. Pulled hard off the bottom, but ran out of breath really quickly, even with a good tune and heat was always an issue. But that is just me.... Don't forget its an EPA cam, in my opinion it leaves something on the table!

I ran the Harley 259 in a stage 3 103 kit in my 2009 Ultra.
Got 102 HP and 111 TQ. I wouldn't recommend it for a 2 up heavily loaded bike.
The surge at 3K RPM was fun but it was a dog below that.

Anyone run the 259E Harley cam?

This is a CVO 110 with the 259, 10.5 pistons.

Run 003 was with a stock TB, True duals and a poor tune.
Run 042 was with a 58 TB, DX Pipe, 2.25 baffles and a good tune.

Pretty good final run but still not a cam I would recommend after seeing better results with less compression
and other grinds

Update: I got beat off the line yesterday by the wife on her FLHX 103'. She does have my old 255 cams from the Fatbob with a TTS and a  Kuryakyn pipe system. :-[ The stock 110 motor is no great power producer. Same cam with smaller engine beat s the CVO?????

I am most likely going to put the DX pipe, 1.75 cores and the TTS on and run some of the new(warranty) out of it for the summer. I have the Andrews 54s laid aside and have a map for them when I decide to install them. I will have two dyno runs with the same bike and I will post the results.

There does seem to be some difference of opinion about the performance in the lower rpm? This part of the power curve is very important to me.

Look at the bright side, the 110 didn't blow up... That's worth it's weight in gold these days  :-\

Knock on wood but I have owned five HDs and never had one blow up or even quit for that matter. I have the 09 Fatbob with the 110 kit(259 and hc pistons) and it has 20k miles with absolutely no issues. I figure the law of averages could bite me any time.

Between the five bikes there are over 160'000 miles.

I'm happy to hear that. Too many bad stories.
