Pacific Coast Highway Biker Stops?
« on: December 09, 2006, 02:02:44 AM »

Planning a trip for summer 2007 along the Pacific Coast Highway and I am looking for some great "biker" places to eat and drink.  Any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated.

ragged point on hwy1 is a great stop. you can overnite there too. i think the pch is more about riding than stopping.from big sur to san simeon at hearst castle theres not many places to stop but its some of the best riding. the pch will have more stops if your riding from port hueneme to santa monica- ck out pashnit.com for calif roads [smiley=banana.gif]

Let the Bay Area crew know when you're coming and what part of Hwy 1 you'll be riding so we can hook up and show you around a bit.  Alice's Restaurant in Woodside usually has several hundred bikes there on the weekend...

Thanks for all the great suggestions [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif].  I knew I could count on you guy's and gal's.  I am leading a ride for 15 bikes (20 people) and they are a somewhat motley crew so I don't think you will want us dropping by your home [smiley=nervous.gif].  Sue and I have told them we are going to break away for a day in San Jose and we would love to get together with you all.  Our trip is taking us through Nelson for the Toadrock Rally (July 1st) and then down through Portland to the PCH and then down to San Jose and across to Las Vegas.  Then it is back North to Salmon Arm, BC for the Summer Stomp which finishes on July 15th.  Then it is down to Nelson for the CVO Rally on the 16th.

Any known stops from Portland to San Jose would be great.  Thanks a bunch.

Looks like you can snipe some good stuff off of this site;  http://www.pashnittours.com/tour_2.html

There are lots of details for where they take 2 wheel tour groups.

Thanks everyone for the great suggestions [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif].  I really appreciate all of the hospitality you have offered.  This speaks volumes about the quality of people we have on our site.  I will definitley let you know when Sue and I are in the area.  We may even run into some of you heading back North on your way to Nelson.  Hey Roger, Sue is the worst of the bunch, it is I that keeps her in line [smiley=drink.gif].  I have set all of your suggestions as Waypoints on my GPS so thank you.
