Rooster you bring up a great point. I am calling the tech now to see if replacing some of the stock components with higher quality options is in order.

Jesse

I imagine some of the head vendors may chime in...  AV&V would be my choice for valve train components.

What is the cause of such buildup?   :nixweiss:

What is the cause of such buildup?   :nixweiss:

You're always going to have some carbon buildup in the combustion chamber.  The quality of the fuel and the tune can contribute to carbon build up.  However, the loose guide allows excess oil to drain down the valve stem, the combustion heat turns this oil to carbon, which in turn robs the stem and guide from receiving proper lubrication.

At the end of the day, the valve seizes in the guide because of insufficient lubrication, but the cycle started with excessive lubrication because of the loose fit.

Exactly.  Thank you.

Glad you made it home safe and the bike sounds like it is at a good dealer.
