I left from home (Northwest Missouri) at noon on Friday and rolled into Phoenix, Arizona at 1:00 pm on Saturday. Stopped for gas and beverage only until I hit Tucumcari, NM where I ate, stretched and relaxed for about an hour. Then to Winslow, AZ. where I had to get a few pics Standing At The Corner (I'll post those in famous places)
No rain the whole way. It was a little hot coming across Kansas on Friday afternoon, but it was scorching hot when I dropped into the valley just North of Phoenix.
Google maps said the trip on my route would be 1350 miles but I came upon a very bad car wreck just South of Dalhart, TX. and had to backtrack 150 miles to get around it. So my trip was somewhere around 1500 miles.
I can safely say that my butt never really hurt the whole trip. Thank You Corbin!
However, both of my wrists, especially my throttle hand are absolutely killing me. I rode with my feet on the pegs and heels on the boards most of the trip, right side is fine but my left leg went numb the last few hours. I don't believe that I'll be doing a trip like that again, just too hard on the bod.
Before I started, I was planning to stay all night in Tucumcari but the detour due to the wreck put me in there at 3:00 am and I wasn't going to spend 120 bucks for a room for three hours. So, hammer down.
Just one speeding ticket in Guymon, OK (68 in a 45). Most of the trip cruise speed was around 80.
