not really (on paper anyway).  its a standard 1 year warranty.  the additional 4 years is pretty much the same as an esp, only it covers powertrain only.  and i'm sure that you're paying for it somewhere, even though they say that it's included in the sales price.

the only reason that they are including them is because they're so ugly, people don't want to buy them without a price drop and a warranty incentive.....

but.... more power to them.  i hope hd feels the pressure and starts upping their quality.  though i must admit, in 12 years, and 7 harleys, (the wife rides her own), i have only had 1 warranty claim.  had an inner primary bearing go south on me.
Esp lol. You mean the $2000 add on that doesn't cover anything because you put on aftermarket parts :)

Would rather go this route than most Victory's I've seen. Maiden voyage from AL-ID back in 2011.

I do like the idea of going old school H-D though. Not sure if I'll buy another new H-D but I know I enjoy the two that I have.

Esp lol. You mean the $2000 add on that doesn't cover anything because you put on aftermarket parts :)

yeah, that's the one  :orange:

just for giggles, i tried to research the polaris esp to see how it stacked up against hd esp.  what i found was that there are a lot of guys out there that are not happy.  for the lesser numbers of victories on the road, it seemed like an awful lot of complaints.   i found all kinds of claims being denied, dealers that refused to do warranty work because the bike was bought elsewhere, and if it is the polaristar esp, it sounds like they pretty much will deny coverage on the vehicle for any modification that "Any vehicle modified or altered with, but not limited to, high performance and/or off-road equipment that is not original factory equipment"  also " Any repair of valves or rings, where the only malfunction is low compression or excessive use of oil, stuck and/or carbonized piston rings, improper spark plug heat range, or piston seizure not caused by a manufacturing defect" and the big one, "Any Mechanical Breakdown or overheating resulting from misuse, abuse, accident, dirty or poor quality fuel,[/b] improper fuel or fluids, improper fuel mixture...."

so it sounds like they are taking lessons from hd on the administering of their esp

don't get me wrong, i'm not just blindly drinking the hd koolaid.  i know that there is a lot of room for improvement, but the grass is not always greener on the other side.....

Ahh.. so how/why did you end up owning the Harley?
Funny story.

When I was bike shopping after my Limited was totaled I had a big, fat insurance check burning a hole in my pocket.  There were only two Harleys I was interested in, the CUSE7 in orange and black, and a CVO Roadie in blue and black.  The wife hates Roadies, so that one was out (didn't help that I would have had to have bought a TP and lowers too).  I just couldn't see spending nearly $40,000 for a bike that I knew would need a new seat, new bars, new windshield, and a Stage 1 to be right, so I ended up on a BMW Adventure.  Loved that bike, but I got a lemon and got rid of it after a year.

Given all the issues I had with my Limited, I didn't want to go back to a Harley, so I looked really hard at the CCT.  No, it doesn't look as pretty as a Harley, but some of my best rides have been on homely girls.  As it turned out, my local Harley dealer had just gotten my CUSE7 in as a trade, and I got a helluva deal on it.  Couldn't pass it up and I bought it.

I won't say I regret it.  The bike served me well for the 14 months and 24,000 miles I had it, but I gotta say that like a supermodel, Harleys are high-maintenance.  And I'm just tired of that.  They're good bikes, but there are a lot better ones out there.  No, they're not as pretty, no there isn't as much stuff to buy for them, but as far as riding is concerned.....I think there's better choices.

If Victory ever gets it's crap together and puts decent looking switchgear on their bikes, they'll do a lot better.  That was my biggest gripe, the view from the cockpit sucks.

Sent from my iPad, probably while I'm pooping.

HEY GUYS.. keep in mind .. if we dont buy them HD'S they will cut back on the production of the models... in which  raises the waiting lists and makes our older bikes value go up... remember the  80's and 90's....  BUT probably alot of you have only been riders for 20 yrs . so dont remember those yrs..lol

HELL... the older shovels , pans , and knuckles are only going up.. a great investment .. lol

Well I rode his 2014 Victory Cross Country to his house this evening. Only a 20 mile trip. Bike had .8 miles on it when I left the dealership.

Two words: Not Impressed.

The bike "rides" nice and all that but the engine is noisy, in an odd way. It is Hot as Hot can be. It appears to be oddly powered. Granted it is completely stock and had no miles on it but it felt poor at any rpm. Note! I did not run it hard at all.

Down the interstate it was nice. Comfortable and such.

He ended up paying $16,800.  Even at that price I would never buy one. The main reason: The Engine

I have had the same experience as Willy B.  I thought hell I could own one of those and then I get aboard and it sounds more like a snowmobile than a big bore two cylinder.  What's up with the sound.  And the heat is their as well.

Does a stock Harley engine sound any better?

Yes. My stock CVO's engine sounded much better. Exhaust was quiet but the Victory sounded oddly bad. I actually kept thinking there was something wrong with it. It sounded bad so much so that when I got it to his house the first thing I did was check the oil. It was full.

Riding wise, it shifted nicely and rode nice.

My first thought when I rode it out of the shop across their parking lot was "Man this is not good".

As much as we all have "things" annoying us about our CVO's I am very glad that I own a Harley over a Victory. The Victory engine is horrible (Strange mechanical sounds and a weird vibration feel) and it's very very hot. Much more so than my stock CVO prior to changing cams, pipes and tuning. The Victory has sort of a cheap feel including, seat, controls and paint.

All I can say is; "Wow, I will never own one".

Thank God this is not going to be another "i just bought a --- and I love it so much and its so much better than my HD I am am going to post every 5 minutes how much I log my --- on the CVO (HD) site" thread...
Sorry but just couldn't help myself
