willy, shimming the spring pack is one of the fixes that was mentioned to me by the BAKER representative i spoke with, but when i took it in for the last replacement i told the service writer about this (and of course i got that look) any how i noticed yesterday a squawk noise coming from the primary when leaving a stop a lill hard/fast. so if you have any part numbers for these shims on your invoice could you pass them on to me, thanks in advance.

AHA! The dreaded SQUAWK from the primary! This is the first time I have ever heard anyone else besides me mention that particular issue. I have been having EXACTLY that same issue when taking off from a dead stop, and no one I have talked to has been able to say what it could possibly be! But it's been getting worse and worse over the last 2000 miles.

I have been suspecting a lot of things, since I can feel vibration in the clutch lever when the squawking occurs.… my Energy One clutch plates getting dry and squawking even though they've only been on for less than 10,000 miles, the main tranny bearing, the chain tensioner, etc.

After reading this, I am now convinced that my compensator has been the source of the squawking all along, since when it squawks it sounds like it's coming from the front of the primary… EXACTLY  where the comp is. I highly suspect that the squawking is caused by excessive side-to-side play of the comp on the engine shaft, due to insufficient spring pressure… exactly what these shims are being put in to address!

Fortunately, after talking with Steve, I now have a remedial action plan in place!  :drink:
