Tomorrow is the day
« on: September 15, 2014, 07:43:40 PM »

The sales manager, a good friend of mine, gave me the call today that my Abyss Blue/Crushed Sapphire will arrive tomorrow and will be ready for pickup. I can't wait to finally see it in person, but the best part will be that my wife should stop reminding me that she has a CVO with a 110 engine and I don't.

Congrats. Dealer in my area is receiving the Blue CVO RG tomorrow as well. I want to see one in person myself. I almost pulled trigger on one out of my area last week but we couldn't get the trade difference worked out so i stepped away from it.

Rain Gods had not mercy today, so the wife and I saddled up our rain gear and rode it home.  This is before heading out.  First upgrade was shorty antennas and I will instal my George Anderson tourpak relocator to push it back 1-1 1/2". Also came in today was S&S headers to go along with with my CFRs.

A couple observations:

1. Floor boards are pretty skinny and I will need to move them out farther ... no biggie
2. Calm air flow at least up to 60mph with and without the inlets open
3. I'm 5' 10" and feel a little cramped; but I'm use to stretching out, slouching, etc on my RG custom
4. Handlebars are not that bad for a guy use to having 16" apes. They will get replaced but I can live with it for now.
5. Completely different body position than the older bikes ... it's more laid back and relaxed and I could see traveling even longer distance than what we normally do.
6. Just a beautiful bike and we are extremely happy.

Here's before heading out in the rain

Congrats on the bike!

Regarding the George Anderson bracket, I didn't use mine off of my 10 on the 14 as the tourpack is now slotted and you can slide the tour pack back and forth by simply loosening the bolts in the bottom of the tourpack.

Got it but it will only go back about 1" ... his plate will move it back almost 2-3". BTW: your '10 plate won't fit on the '14 due to the new tourpak design.

Nice bike, I have the same one!  I had the pin pulled from the handle bar clamp and move the bars forward a bit, much better.  My 12 CVO RG had 14 apes as does my 13 CVO RK.  Not sure yet if this will get apes or not.  Moved forward the bars are pretty good for me at 6'1"

Beautiful bike, congratulations.

Everyone is either Black or Blue on their new SERGU. Can't wait to someone to post a Red one.

Beautiful bike ,, glad your happy,, Trying to decide between the 15 RGCVO and the Street Glide.. Do you happen to know how much travel your new RGU has in the rear suspension. The Street Glide is like 2.1 inches??
