So my corvette finally sold today and after the wife took her cut, I've got a budget of about 8K to get my SERK squared away. Is anyone doing their own engine builds at home? I haven't heard anything good about any of the shops that are here locally, so I guess I should start researching.
I was planning on S&S 124 or 120r, but not sure that would put me any further ahead.
I have done cam swaps and stage 1's on Twin Cams and big bores and stokers on VRods, but I really don't know much about setting up the bottom end on a twin cam. I had planned on swapping out my stock crank to an S&S crank, have my heads worked over, new cams, increase displacement (113) with higher compression, diamond cut fins, new headpipes, and a bigger TB if necessary. Oh an hopefully find a decent gas map for me to tune from with my Power Vision.
So has my budget been blown? My goals are to have fun without blowing the budget and have a very street friendly, reliable, strong ride.
V/r,
Chris
