It's Here!
« on: December 21, 2006, 09:26:40 PM »

I was in Denver last week on business when I got the call that my bike had arrived.  That meant I had to wait three days before I actually got to see it but my buds saw it and gave me a big thumbs up.  I live in the Dallas area but bought the bike in Tulsa where they are move "customer friendly".  The plan was to go to Tulsa Friday to pick up the bike and spend the weekend breaking it in with my long time friend who live there.  Shortly after the bike arrived, he called to say I was going to be very unhappy with him because he had just broken his hand and could not ride for a couple of months.  Long story short, I loaded it up in the back of my truck and brought it home without even riding it around the block.  When I got her unloaded last Sunday morning and took it on it's maiden ride in my subdivision, I was astonished at home much power it has.  Compared to my '04 RK Classic, it's like riding a sport bike.  It took me about 30 minutes to decide the factory windshield had to go.  I tested a RK shield that was 2" shorter but decided for my size, I really needed the full height version.
Anyway, here is the first picture.  I couldn't figure out how to post more than one so I'll add a second to the next installment.
It has the new windshield, passing lights, passenger floor boards, highway pegs, and the tail light conversion kit to make the rear turn signals running/brake lights.  All that's left is getting it to make some noise.  I've been watching the posts and am still confused on what I can and can't do in that area.

Here's another angle....

Love the Bike,  my favorite color.  Love the vette better.  scheeech I have been looking for one of those for awhile.

Thanks for the pics.  PS:  as far as pipes for sound,  just put on some slip ons of your choice and the bike will run just fine.  If you want more without the hassle of warrenty issues get a PCIII usb,  but not needed

Thanks for the comments.  Can anyone tell me the real scoop on the warranty issues.  I've heard different stories from different dealers.  One says you can't do anything muffler-wise without voiding the warranty.  Another says you can put pipes on but it requires also adding a race tuner and dyno to make them work properly and that does not void the warranty as long as the bike remains street legal.  Anyone got any insight into reality here?

... the tail light conversion kit to make the rear turn signals running/brake lights.
Which conversion kit did you use for the running/brake light conversion?

I tried the HD brake light conversion module off my '05 RK Classic (it has the bullet rear turn signal bar kit 68615-04) but it made the rear turn signals on my '07 SERK stop working. I'm not sure which conversion module came off the '05 because it's a couple of years old now and I don't have the PN. I noticed that there are some newer modules available now though, so it sounds like I just need the right one.

Any help would be appreciated!

Hard to say where the warranty thing will land and it is always more the dealership interpretation in the final end.  From the sounds of it if the one telling you about the SERT and dyno is nearby they would be worth checking out.  The guys telling you no mods will be looking far any excuse to void warranty on you it sounds like.

Congrats on the bike and if I haven't said welcome previously elsewhere, Welcome. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

OCD?  What OCD?  (heh heh heh)  It's amazing what you can do when your kids are grown and the wife becomes your ex-wife.  Suddenly there's no one left to tell you "no" anymore.  Life is good.

I had the dealer put it in before I picked up the bike.  He called to tell me they were going to use something other than Harley because there had been lots of problems with the Harley kit.

I'll call today to find out and let you know.

I tried to use the module off my 05RK,,  didn't work. so the dealer put the new one in.cost me like $25.  but the rear signals are now also brake lights.
