I had a friend tell me last night that a Harley dealer in Montana is telling people that if they use fuel with ethanol in it, it will void their warranty. He thinks it may even be printed in the new Harley manual. They are telling people to find gas stations that sell fuel without ethanol in it. I find this hard to believe. Does anyone know if there is any truth to this?
Your friends story is false, whether someone at a Harley dealership actually said it or not. Sounds like some more of the patently false stuff that people with an agenda flood the internet and the airwaves with these days.
E-10 is a standard fuel these days, and is federally regulated, and every vehicle manufacturer has been required to design their vehicles to use it for decades. Harley can not void anyone's warranty for using the fuel. Now if you were to dump a significantly higher percentage ethanol product in the tank, like E-85, then that's a different story. Only special flex fuel vehicles can use that blend.
