I do not fret over miles. I did not buy for any reason except to ride. Some of us actually brag about the miles as some type of badge of honor. ;)

That clearly describes my wife.  She averages 35K miles a year.  She has been riding since April 2007.  Put 23K on a sportster which was traded for her Heritage which now has 96K on it.  She also had an 11 Street glide with 44K on it before we traded it for a 13 Street Glide, which was just traded with 41K on it for her 15 Road glide Special which has 4K on it already.  So in about 7.5 years she has rode over 200K.

Boy am I jealous.  But tell me this Dave...are you keeping up with her or is she wearing the chaps in the family???  :) :) :)

How many CVO miles is too many?  I don't think there is really an answer to that one.  I've enjoyed every mile so far but have never felt like it was too many.  On the contrary, I don't get to put enough on it.  If I could find a job that paid me to ride, I'd be in hawg heaven.  I didn't buy it to look at (well, that's not entirely true...she is purdy) but to ride the thing.  It has two wheels and a motor for a reason....ride the sum beach.

As for the badge of honor.....ya dang right it is!  One riders badge may only say 2,000 miles while another may say 20,000 miles.....still riding something, somewhere, some distance.

My wife has only done about 80K since 2009 and she was humbled to hear of your wife's accomplishments. Always good to see the wife eat humble pie. :bananarock:

I bought my 2014 CVO Limited with the full 5 year extended warranty. Unless something dramatic happens I have every intention of putting all the kms on it that I can in those 7 years. Then I will have to decide what to do with it, but I like the thought someone else had that then they would just get a new bigger engine. Like everyone else says just ride it and maintain it well. Motorcycles are not a monetary investment for me; they define my freedom; which is probably why I nicknamed my CVO "FREE".

I do not do to bad keeping up.  Consider I am off shore working 6 months a year and I average 24K a year.  She does 36K in a year and I do 24K in 6 months so I say yea, or even ahead of her.   She works part time, some of it as a MSF coach.

Nothing shabby at all about 80 since 09, far more than most new riders do.  My wife just really loves riding, and does not think twice about taking a long trip alone when I am at work.  Down to FL to visit a grand children or Bend OR last year for a Motor Maids convention.
