I can't say specifically on the Limited but believe she is somewhat correct, although the space it takes up would be minimal. It also depends on your preferred riding position. Can you move the tour-pack back with an Anderson re-locator or similar? On my Ultra Classic and baggers before this one, without the back rest mounted the BSR became the rider backrest...

My wife is about 5'10" and a buck fifty.  She says that with the back rest in it gives her a bit more secure feeling and she really doesn't lose much space.  I haven't moved the TP back the available inch yet but will soon to see what she thinks.

Hope this helps..

If a man is all alone in the middle of the desert when he speaks and no one hears him, is he still wrong?

If your talking about the rider backrest, my wife absolutely hates the thing. It seems to get in her way when she's getting on the bike and makes her feel cramped - plus she like to stash her gloves, baclava and other small items in that convenient little "pocket" that the backrest is supposed to go in  ::)

My BSR loves it especially when she falls asleep while on a long ride.  It locks her in like a seat belt, plus I like it for back comfort.

This always goes over well, tell her if she'd lose a little weight there'd be room for your backrest.

Hmmm...not sure thats the answer, but if you feel like you must go that route make sure you are wearing your protective cup...otherwise you may be talking at a little higher pitch. Although when she is done with you there may be a "little"more room to the front of you...if you know what I am saying.
