Yes. Another approach is to egg shape the hole and put an insert in it that has the proper size bearing hole inside the egg shaped piece that will fit into the hole.

yes,ive repaired WAY worse then that.we first bore the effected area, then machine a 7075 aluminum sleeve and sweat it in(no welding),then size it for the Torrington bearing.WAY stronger than stock when done

I agree a sleeve on that damage would be best. IF they get a tiny area at the bottom a quick amount of weld is very simple and will not harm anything what so ever.  But it really does not matter what super custom , ex aero space shop can do,....when they  across the country. You are dealing with that HD shop. You have shops in your backyard that can get that repaired for you and your dealer you are working with. I would urge that HD shop to look local for a shop to make the repair keep it simple get your bike back together.

Talked with my dealer today...G.M. along with the Owner of the dealership. Possibility MOCO and Dealer will participate with the repairs under policy assistance.  They understood I've been a loyal customer since 2006 and bought 5 bikes from them since...we'll see what they come up with...meanwhile I added a new one to the stable

Kirby it was not directed at you. It was about the shop right out the gate wanting to install new cases.  To me it seems they want to CYA and do it one way only so MAYBE a local shop right there that could repair it might save the guy some money. But it seems they are working with him. Glad to hear it

Good news...My dealer and MOCO are participating with the repairs. They are paying for new cases and also some help with the labor cost....it's was all about communication with the dealer...

okay so....I'm running a SE260 cam, with pop up's, and S&S lifters, push rods with a 58mm intake.
So, all I'll need additional is head and cylinder work...right?

I ran my V-Rod against a 113 yesterday...the V Rod smoked him on top end..

I have not used the 260 cam however I have done the 259 cam with all other stock parts. 259 cams can be bought used pretty cheap. Makes for a very touring style curve. simple basic power. It may not be the X hp king but who cares if the bike is a ton of fun to ride in what ever gear its in and when ever you decide to roll it on. So with only the 113 you can have a very nice mid 120 tq bagger. Nothing wrong with that.  Again glad to hear they are helping out. Congrats..

Another with our cam
