Hi will the screamin egale  180 se tyre  fit my 2007 fxdse ? I know it says it wont fit the 2008 fxdse/2 what are the diffrences in these two bikes around swingarm area for clearance thanks

Hi im hoping someone can help me out will the se 180 gt502 rear tyre fit my 2007 fxdse dyna , it says theywont fit the 2008 fxdse/2 i thought these two model bikes would have same width swingarm ? I live in new zealand info hard to find what fits what any ideas on what 180 tyre will fit nightdragon looks narrow due do round shoulders , may have to stick to dunlop 170 yuck

Which 180 series tire are you talking about?  The stock tire is a D407, size 170/60R17  78H, and the rim is 4.50" X 17".  It's outer diameter is 25.48", Width is 6.67", and the recommended rim width is 4.50".  I didn't see a 180 x 17" size in the Dunlop D407 chart, and the only 180 x 17 I did find in the Dunlop catalog was for a sport bike, had a lower load rating of 73 versus the stock 78, and required a 5.50" rim width.

Hi the tyre is call screaming eagle se 180  model num gt 502 180 60 17 to fit stock dyna rims  its just the clearence im worryed about want get rid off skinny 170 yucky under tyred dunlop

OK now I know which tire you're talking about.  The GT502 is designed to fit your rim, so that part is OK.  The load rating is still lower than the stock tire (75 versus 78), I never recommend going lower but that's up to you.  And of course the D407 is a radial, whereas the GT502 is a bias ply.

D407    170/60R17 78H   Diameter 25.48", Width 6.67"
GT502  180/60B17 75V   Diameter 25.75", Width 7.18"

The difference in width is 0.51".  If you measure the clearance to all the possible rub points using your stock tire (swing arm, belt, belt guard, fender and interior bolts, wiring, etc.) on both sides, you can then determine if you will have enough clearance with the GT502.  For instance, if the closest measurement you find with the stock tire is .25" or less, the GT502 definitely won't fit without modification.  And you need more than just .25".  If it were me I'd want .25" minimum clearance even with the new tire, which means having .50" with the old tire.
