Porthole, you are right no valid reason.  The reason however is that the dealer screwed Bill when he should have been going to bat for him with Chrysler.

I have it on my SRT 10, my SEUC, my DWG3, my two jet skis and my computer.

I have had three computer repairs (in home), multiple SRT repairs although still on factory warranty, these warranties are a crap shoot, but I have always figured if I am keeping something beyond the factory warranty may as well have the additional coverage.  I look at it like health insurance, [highlight]you sure as hell hope you never need it but if something happens and you do you are sure glad you have it.[/highlight]

As long as you don't give them an excuse not to honor it! 8-) Hoist!  8-)

It's only as good as your dealer, fortunately I have a good one that will "work" with it.  As long as the service contract wankers don't send out an inspector we'll be fine.

Since the SEUC is my "wife's" bike it won't get too many performance mods.  She get twitchy when I add stuff to it or make changes.

P.S.: I'm reserving judgement on mine until I see if it's gonna be necessary. I have 2 Years to make up my mind to extend it!

When you figure that out, write a book on when/if to buy a warranty........you'll make a killing

Just another random thought to throw out for your consideration:

You know, the more I think about this warranty issue (regular or extended service plan), after being a member of this site for a couple years and reading about the piles of money people are spending to customize these "custom" bikes, the more I think it's a non-issue.  Why would anyone willing and able to drop several thousands of dollars customizing a new $30k motorcycle be concerned about repair costs?  Screw it - do what you want and forget the warranty.  What's the worse that could happen, five or six grand for a new crate engine?  If it came to that, you could buy something from S&S, TP, etc. and get some real performance. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

I concur Jerry, Non-issue here for me. No extended warranty here for the new 07. I'm free to do what ever upgrade I want and if something goes array so be it. Its only $ $ I like to enjoy my hard earned dollar not worry what some dealer is going to say what not to do.

Jerry, this is exactly how my 460 Ford Tahiti ended up with a 503 Pro Comp highrise with dual Holly 850 double pumpers.

There is a lot to be said for the  [smiley=oops.gif] [highlight]it blew, better fix it right this time [/highlight] theory [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

 Don't get me wrong here on the money issue. I had the extended warranty on the 04 seeg and never used in 15k miles and got most of it refunded when bike was sold. But I was also strapped down on any major engine mods-ect. Seven years is to long to wait.So this time I want to do some mods and if it cost me so be it. I call it self insurance. I know It is a great piece in mind that you are covered. But that being said these big companies with their extended warranties is were they make a good profit. I'm not sure what HD profit is but I'm sure more than you and I could comprehend. I heard of one major company last year made more off ext. warranties than the actual product sales. Bottom line is you do what you got to do. Ride safe.

C'mon d00d, Santa's list musta' been longer. But in a nutshell, I'm doing the HD Custom Aux light kit w/halogen aux lites and smoked bullet turn signals and "frenched-in" trim rings. Getting rid of the handlebar signals. TrueTrack, K&N HD-0800, S&S SPO's on factory headpipes, PCIII w/O2 Elims, oil temp/level dipstick, detachable 2-up luggage rack, HD low/mid king size windshield w/skull trim strip & RK Custom w/s bag, Run/Brake/Turn signal module for bullets from a Dyna, SS fuel and crossover lines w/ fuel tank fitting cover. I tink I have a few more things. I've also picked up a set of Hard Bags I'd like to install, but want a matching paint job for them before considering this. I'm getting a little burnt from this so I probably forgot some stuff. I hope to have this bike just the way I want it by Spring. Thanks for asking Sky. Hoist!  8-)
