Hoist
You say that like it's something special.
Remember it's not all about you.
There are three Harleys and the Frontier in my bike garage.
The rock and roll boat sits in the other garage next to the 5 year old Mustang with 15K miles and the two scooters.
In the bike garage what sits next to what changes daily as Nancy and I rotate the bikes as we ride them.
We put 350 miles on each of the two Classics today.
:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
So does a SMART Brabus Roadster have a web site?
It looks very cool!
You say that like anything but the bikes matter! ::)

If you look at the picture on my profile here, you'll see what sits in my garage BEHIND my Harley......it's a 1956 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. She's all original, including the paint she was given 51 years ago.
My wife's Triumph (America), My RC-51, my son's Buell XB-12 and our Mule. The new Land Rover is shunned to the outside. Gotta keep the bikes nice. I'd post a picture, but REGGAB (Henry) would kick my @$$ if he saw the state of the garage! :-[

You guys are too rich for my blood...........
Whoa, now THAT is really cool! :2vrolijk_21: Has it been in your family all that time?
Lemme guess, you've got your own private putting green out back
Are you a biker who plays golf or a golfer who rides ?
It was an honest mistake I'm sure (yeah right)
Hobo
Twin 250 Mercs or Yamahas?
I've had 2 Donzi 30 ZF's, Sold the first one to try something else, couldn't stand it, had to go buy another 30 ZF. Great boats, with 250's in smooth seas I could run 75 +.
Actually Don they're referred to as reel mowers and the one in the photo also has a roller behind the blades to flatten the surface after it clips the grass. A reel mower actualy cuts the grass similar to a scissors action as opposed to hacking it off ( and splitting the blades) like a rotary mower. I could be wrong, but I don't believe you could even find a rotary mower in the barn of a golfcourse. Even the big suckers they use on the fairways are reel style mowers with multiple reels. Back to putting greens, on average every green on a golf course costs $100,000. It's incredible what goes into building a PGA standard putting green and once it's built the maintenance is every bit as detailed. You could do a lot worse off in life than to be the head greenskeeper at a 1st class country club.
Now somebody call the Cash Cab so I can make some money on all this crap bouncing around in my head.

and I can't wait until the next time! Will your bike be ready for Hot springs?
Pete, I remember some vender in MB that was selling a golf club holder that bolted to your bike. Best of both worlds, if you want to chase that little white ball for 4 hours.
Chit........if I want to get frustrated, I'll go to work. Certainly don't need any more frustration, and that's all I get when I try to play "Pasture Pool."
Much better to just play it on the computer. I've personally kicked Tiger Woods butt so many times that it's getting a little boring. Best part about this type of golf, no hunting through the woods and weeds for the ball.
Jerry
There you go, Jerry...I've never played the game because I was afraid I might like it and add to my list of vices. I'd have to take at least 2 dozen balls to get through 18 holes. I've always thought it was just an excuse for guys to get away from their wives/kids, drink beer, smoke cigars, and gamble ;) anyway. Some may say that is what bike riding is for. ;) :nixweiss:
The only thing I got against it is that it takes so loooooooong to play, especially when you shoot a 10 on each hole :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2:
I'd love to ride the course in a golf cart. I'd buy the balls if'n you'd throw them up in the air as I shoot them with a 12 Gauge pump.

Howie's garage has a medusa's head nightmare of lines that carry hot juice under his driveway in the winter time. It's alive!
You know Don, with all that fancy hot water ice melting equipment and such, he would have some sort of beverage dispenser piped into that heated garage so you don't have to drag that melted slush into Binx's beautiful house in the winter :coolblue:

Latest addition: 1962 (year I was born) Vendorlator 110 Pepsi vending machine. Just finished rewiring it. Getting a freon charge this week. Picked it up last weekend. Holds 110 bottles of beer. Here's a picture I took last Sunday shortly after pressure washing it. I've removed all the lights and the innards, so I could clean it up. Hope to have this thing working next weekend. Trying to occupy my mind until the green bike gets finished.
DONE!! COLD BEER!! 110 of 'em. My house. Just finished this afternoon. Works like a champ. Now I gotta find something else to do until the green bike is finished. School isn't real challenging this term.

CANS? We don't need no stinking CANS! CANS are for NASCAR events, and even then, when tailgating before and after the race, bottled beer is preferred. ;DI was wondering what he was thinking about. :confused5: Those machines were strictly bottles. Oh the good ole days. :2vrolijk_21:

Yep. I miss 'em. I remember getting cold drinks out of machines just like my Vendorlator, and they'd be mush ice cold. There was always a mechanical snack machine next to the drink machine that had Tom's peanuts. I'd gulp down some of my Coke and then pour in a bag of Tom's peanuts. Good stuff. Still do that today.................but it just isn't the same in a plastic Coke bottle.Oh yea. Had those many a times. :2vrolijk_21:
I'm thinking about looking for an old Vendo Coke machine and restoring it. Always have liked antiques.

hogwander, how do you like the hard top? I have the same 07 jeep but didn't want to spend the extra $$$ on the hardtop. I had a 05 that I removed the top the first day, put a bikini top on and didn't put the real top back on until the day I sold the jeep. So, I didn't think I need the hardtop, now I am thinking of bringing it back to Memphis where we do have a winter and I'm thinking about ordering one from Whitney Online. Do you remove yours? Looks like it would be a real pain to put on and take off.
Mark
Mark, from my point of view (as a dealer) folks seem to get both tops many times, especially in Washington with a winter and lots of rain. Mostly I see them leave the Hardtops on full time or as you did go without most of the time. Not much in between. The hard tops are a bit of a PIA to swap and that's why I think they developed the "open air" roof to try for the best of both worlds for climates with winter/rain.
Two guys can lift the top of but three is better unless you rig a pulley in the garage. It takes and hour or two to swap them and about a half rack. :drink:
Thanks for the information, that is what I was thinking. I guess I'll leave the bikini top on and just wear my Gerbing heated stuff if I use it here in cold weather. ;DYou know those two days a winter, every other year when the temps get down in the low 40s, isn't really considered cold weather.

I take the two front panels out frequently and I pull the doors off more than my wife thinks is necessary. As far as the top I just use four swing mounts in my garage ceiling and two straps going from front to back and crank it off in as little as 30 min. total by myself. I just leave the back window open and crank it up about 8 inches and drive out from under it. I love the new JK and the hardtop. Bonus you can take the front panels with you and put them in like a bikini top. It locks in without the rear section.
This is another way of lifting it that I read about. http://jk-forum.com/showthread.php?t=1035
You know the wheels and tires with a lift is just a matter of time!!!!!!!! JEEP Just Empty Every Pocket

Great pics of the Jeeps. Even the Free Candy love machine is a good pic. But I can tell you that if I ever have to hike out into the woods and live on my own devices for a while, I want to go with Roger.
By the size of those frying pans, I'm thinking that clean and empty they are hardly able to be lifter. Full of fried food ----- just best be hungry enough to empty them.

Magic,
Thank you for the additional photos. In the states, that would be a rare find. Are there many of them where you are ? Some of us have talked about a European CVO ride in 2008 . I would love to bring home something like this old bike as a " souvenier " I mean it's only fair since we send you brand new CVO's while we wait for the here- - is it not ? ;D

I think the pipes are "L.A.F." brand pipes.......(loud as f***)Thanks for the info.....I know it's a fun scooter. You can use a squeeze-bulb horn to get by the inspection. :coolblue: har! spyder
My son is coming to visit in about two weeks and he and I are going to tinker with it some (idle is set too high and needs a horn to pass inspection). He is a Harley mechanic at a stealer in a northern suburb of Atlanta, GA. While he is here, we're going to do some serious riding.
Santee Rigid Frame (which was powder coated with a metallic base so it transforms in the sunlight)
Here it is again (check two posts prior to the one with the description)..........
I can't get it in the garage but it does compete for my time otherwise.............now if I could just find some more time...... :confused5:
Well, not exactly in the garage, but occasionally she will find her way back to my driveway for a little TLCIt will go fastest if there is about 6 to 8 inches of chop. Just sayin'.

This is my namesake, a 2004 Cobalt 240 with a Volvo 8,1 Gi dual prop that is supposed to throw out 375 HP. I can get her over 60 mph if all the stars are aligned, i.e. smooth lake, perfect humidity, light load, etc.
I'm trying to get vinyl letters with the name "WaterHawg" for the rear.
Here is another one. Got to remember to take the key out of this one. Its not that I mind her driving it but she never bothers to put gas back in it.
I've got a big garage. Ha Ha. Strange but true.
36' Contender
(http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e160/acman2323/Tags014.jpg)
You don't appreciate just how far 110' is until you climb to the top :o
Can you get a photo from the top looking down?
I could, but why :nixweiss:Part of our agility test for potential FF candidate's is to climb to the top of our ladder (100') and lock in. Needless to say this creates quite the pucker factor on a windy day. As Duane mentioned the view is awesome, but not much fun as you are ascending up the ladder and it's swaying in the breeze. :nervous: Recently the local PD SWAT has started requiring potential candidates to climb ladder and lock in also. Their initiation/testing is somewhat like boot camp (for those that have never been in the military think of the movie "Officer & A Gentlemen"), and the FF's get to stand around and watch and give them chit as they are doing it. Nothing like a some good ole fashioned rivalry between our public safety bro's/sis'. ;D
I only climb to the top when I have to, and I usually have a bit of extra weight to bring along. And we seldom climb with the stick just "sticking up there".
The FF you see on the top is one of the typical probies with the "that ain't no big deal" attitude.
Which will typically result in the "OK smart ass, grab a belt and go to the top, lock in and wait for the signal to come down" reply.
And not that we are cruel or anything, but depending on the level of the "bravado" the angle of elevation will change from mild to wild.
Nothing like climbing up 100+ feet at 75-80 degrees to chill out a new guy.
Note: a 110' ladder (ours) includes the distance from the ground to the platform, so the ladder itself is about 102'
I can tell you though a one time I wouldn't hesitate to climb straight up and survey the world from the tip, quite the awesome view, but after 15 years of working on the truck .................................
Plus it is just not the same without the Towers anymore.
I'm sure I have pictures somewhere from the top, that and from the bucket of our 95' platform aerial, I'll have to look around.
Is that a paddlewheel I'm looking at in front of the contender?
You need to put those 225's in the back of the garage and put a set of those new 350's on the back of that Contender.
You know ....the hell with fuel mileage :2vrolijk_21:
Having had 2 Donzi 32 ZF's, both I really liked, all I used to see in our area were Donzis and Fountains. Now all I see are Contenders, a lot of this is due to so many dealers dropping the Donzi line and Fountain has priced themselves far above the market. Everyone I know that now have Contenders are thrilled with the ride over their previous Donzis and Fountains. They say it has a much better ride and a lot dryer. :2vrolijk_21:
There a quite a few Fountains here but they are all "go fast" boats. I have a place in Destin, Fl, which is where I boat.
Next time Normie New Guy runs up, can you provide him with a camera?
It would be neat to see the view from above!

Nope no slow Contender comments. Actually are looking for a 31' CC with a pair of 250 four strokes. That set up will run around 50mph, but will get 2 mpg.
And for the 75K comment......hell we need to make Spiderman feel better.....so sell the old motors for 5k a piece and you will only need 60K then :coolblue:

Thats a beautiful bike. Been trying to buy this one for years from an old guy I know. It belonged to his brother who was killed in WWII. Been setting in this old building ever since. I pulled a leather riding cap out of the saddle bag and it just feel apart in my hands.
It was a toss up where to post this pic between the threads "CVO pets" and "What sits in your garage"... 1948 Indian Chief and 2006 Yorkie (Fargo)
Hey that belongs in the other thread
It goes here!
Good thing you have someone there to keep an eye on what your doing! ;)
My 1964 FalconMikey, I love that 64 falcon!! That was my first car but now were near as nice as yours, I payed $50 for mine in 1977.
Hey Scott, of all those cars listed, that D type Jag would have been the one I'd have tried to hang on to...........sweet car. I remember J. Grant/AJ Foyt driving at Sebring (I'm old)........can't remember if that was the year that Jim Hall had the Chapparrel there or not. Great racing on that old airport track with those hotrods. Thanks for reviving some good memories. :2vrolijk_21: har! spyder
How about a 1955 D type XKD536 Jaguar, or a 1963 Corvette Couple - split window, fuel injected, Ron Caplan (Nickey Chevrolet) Purple People Eater Corvette...raced at Sebring in 1964 with Jerry Grant/AJ Foyt driving, or a 1969 Z28 Camaro that won 4 National Championships over the years (one by my father) - orginally built by John Greenwood for GM (I still have some parts off this car), a 1958 Cadillac powered Allard, I could go on and on...
Scott
Not exactly in my garage, but usually use the bike to get down to the boat most evenings to enjoy a "Sundowner".She's a beauty, Awalker. I've still got my old '73 Pearson 33' Sloop that I've had for most of her life. :) spyder

Well, I sold the 2003 Rubicon and I'm getting a new four door set up to have at the new house.
Had to get the automatic trans for Cindy to have something to drive over there.
The new Rubicon is taking shape, painted top (may do again darker), painted fenders, striped and changed hood decal to match stripes and tan theme. Before and after below.

Heres what sits in my garage now, not next to the geezerglide (2004 SEEG Blue/Black) it is in Phoenix waiting for me to pick it up in May and then to Sedona, then to Calgary. You say: "no sand"......is that because it's too heavy or tires too narrow? spyder
It is my SUV of bikes a BMW R1150 GSA, and last year I put over 12,000 mile on it including the CVO get together in Nelson and the trip through Kamloops, Jasper, Lake Louise and Banff also Sturgis, Boonyville Salt Flat Speed Trials. It was my only bike last year due to a faulty Jims Lifter which grenaded my Jims 120.
They are a great bikes for their intended purpose, on/off road, no sand. It will never replace my HD which I have owned for over the past forty years.
By the way Mark (nixobilly) it is For Sale.

Absolutely! A metric collector for sure-especially given the pristine condition.:worthless:
Based on Honda 's highly successful line of DOHC air cooled engines, the Honda CB1100F SuperSport was the last and arguably most desirable of the CB series. Available in the United States for only one year, 1983, the CB1100F came in two colors; Candy Pearl Kapiolani Blue and Candy Pearl Maui Red
Oh well...
I have some great kids anyway - little Braniac's, not sure where they got it. :dizzy2:

I went Ballastic on that. Had the Postmistress and Asst Postmaster and the Union Boss and 1/2 the damn Poway USPS at my house over that bunch of crap. Did you know it's a federal crime to even threaten a mailman with bodily harm ? Even if he attacks a family member. Which Mickey the wonder dog most certainly is.

What's brokeback mt? That the movie you were bragging about being a body double in? :huepfenlol2:
We were there for 12 hours. I forgot about the paulaner until reaching for a beer to take to the awards presentation and saw it in the cooler covered in ice. We tapped it on the dumpster and I stood guard until it was gone.

Looks like you really got some good caramelization. did you cook the custard on the grill, and then torch the sugar after? Was it a wild flavor, maybe a hint of habanero chile or something? Either way, great looking product! :2vrolijk_21: :smilie_koch1:

How did this thread mutate to food? Some pretty awesome looking cremebrulee, I might add! You need to send me some so I can tell you if it's any good!! I am a critic on CB! The best I've ever had was at The Joshua Wilson House (B&B) in Harrisonburg, VA! I've traveled near and far since then and never found any that could top theirs!

How do you put lowers on with the Heavy Breather? I thought that it hit the lowers that's why you couldn't use it on dressers with lowers.
The only issue is that you have to remove the filter in order to put the right lower on/take it off and you cannot install the right glove box. It works great and looks cool. BTW, I'm going to be covering the throttle body black ugly thing with chrome as soon as I have time.

I'm a low winger at heart, but was tired of climbing up a wing, through one door, sliding down in and over to the pilots seat, so I thought I would try a cessna. I love it, two doors easy to get into and out of, and great visability. I bought the plane last week the way you see it. It's a buyer's market right now, I was watching the market for over 6 months before I pulled the trigger. I have a good clean low time airframe and a great start on updating the panel. thanks.

As I'm a novice flyer with very little experience 40 years ago, it appears to me like he stalls it perfectly and purposely drops the left wing flap to drop her dead perfect on the grass beside the runway. I was just wondering if anyone could be that good or if it was just damn great luck.
I guess we need someone that fancies himself a good pilot to give it a try and show us. Volunteers? ;D

My '03 Dyna T-Sport sits next to my CVO in the garage. It has a 95" BB Kit, 10.5:1 CR, SE211 Cams, 44mm CV Carb & a 6 Speed Tranny (101 hp & 97 torque) :2vrolijk_21:

I know, , , big whoopy!
But I like mine

How many bikes will either 1 of these trailers hold?
mine!
nice!Yup, same as mine. We have a bar across the front of the trailer for leathers and such. I stagger the bikes with the one on the left up farther. That leaves the side door clear to get in and out, Also that creates a space behind the left bike for luggage. We have 4 D rings back in that area for a cargo net over the suitcases.
Time for an enclosed trailer group buy!!! Who's in?? :jack:

my 72 - 442
Good eye, now that you mention it I thought all the 70,71 and 72's had hood scoops and "442" on the side instead of "Cutlass". ;)
Its actually a cutlass, Pretty much everything but the emblems have been converted to 442.
I had a 70 W-30 Hurst 442 back when I was a kid. Way more hp than a kid needs for sure! Sold it after about a year.... still kick myself for that one.
Wouldn't it be nice to still own some of the vehicles we owned in our youth. THE MUFFMAN
Don't you know it.
I had a 69 SS Chevelle before I had the 442. Also had a 70 Nova for a short while and a 72 Chev. Cheyenne Super short bed.
Passed on a 70 Barracuda Convertible w/ a 440ci back in the days, because I thought $1800 was too much for it... what was I thinking :nixweiss:

I had a '73 Pontiac LeMans w/350 Rocket, '73 Ford Torino w/modest 302C (loved that car, learned how to do bodywork so good on it that when I sold it, the guy couldn't find where I had repaired it...factory paint from a spray-can!) '69 Buick LeSabre...that thing was a frigging boat! Had a clock-style speed alarm that you could set to any speed...learned how to repair brake lines on that one...:)
But, in high school, I had the rockin'est car, a Pinto Station Wagon, school bus orange with real simulated wood panel sides...I was the envy of everyone...shoulda played the accordion to further launch my popularity, nothing says "I'm cool" like a good Polka! :2vrolijk_21:

I had a friend who had a Pinto Wagon automatic. It would do at least 60 MPH if you were going downhill. It didn't take over 5-10 minutes to get that fast neither. Whenever it'd shift into high gear, it was like hitting a brick wall. When I met my wife back in the early 80's she had a pinto that shook like a dog chitting razor blades when it was idling. It was so bad that she would put it in neutral when we she came to a stop. I laughed so hard the first time I rode in that thing I thought I was going to wet my pants. :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2:
Been trying to trade the wife in for years. Started out wanting 2 - 20 year olds, then 2- 25 year olds, then 2 - 30 year olds, now I want someone to take over payments. ;D

38' Formula with Twin 525's and a Peterbilt 330 Western Hauler With a Cummins 250 H/P, Allison Automatic
I bet that was fun to feed when gas was over 4 bucks. But, man is that pretty. You can fit a lot of scantilly clad women on a boat that big.
Hey JBBrown73 check this out....CVO / 40 MPG vs Twin 525's @500 Horsepower X 2 = 1,000 H/P X 1 Gallon of Premium every 60 seconds @ 60 MPH....150 Gallon Tank......Cooler of beer, and couple of hot women....with a stripper pole in the cabin....you do the math..
Rather be on the Harley and just stop by the local pub...

Purple Manx LTD Edition
what size motor?
back in the day, I was quite the VW mech, had a Baja Bug (made it that after I wrecked it one night) in HS and a Vert in college...love VW's, ran an 1835 cc with Dual Dell's and wide open exhaust - that Baja Bug hauled ass with the power to weight ratio I had in it...
Sold my Vert a few years back, that was a sad day...loved that car!

Meyers Manx Signature Series, #41 of 100, built in 2003. It has VW sq. tube chassis with a fiberglass pan, a 1915cc engine with dual Webbers, engine cam & 44 heads! In addition, it features new parts, including block, dual oil coolers, Beard super seats, VDO gauges, 4 wheel disc brakes/aircraft brake lines, adjustable front beam & skid plates. It has a hard top which contains a rack, tip down dash, super dune IRS transaxle with close ratio gears, Porsche 930 flanges, & CVC joints!
The builder was Bruce Meyers nephew, not that that means dickie doo, but it is nicely put together. I haven't run it much since buying it.
Sweet - bet that things scoots along with a 1.9l powerplant.

This little baby has a 700cc engine (about 40 ci), it has tiptronic 6 speed, Air Con, Power hood and has a top speed of around 115 mph. Although being so low 60 feels like 100.
Its a complete contrast to my FLHTCUSE2. I have to be carefull as I might ride into the garage and squash it.

Cyril, it appears to be a pre 1920 JE military but the two "canisters" and some mods are throwing me off...On the left side bottom of the motor is the vin showing year and model...Many leftovers from WW1 were left over there...

John can you give us more info on you old bike. I just started reading and studying old bikes and I really enjoy it.The bike is a 1956 FLE, which means it is a 74 C.I. motor with a 61 C.I. cam. They did that to police bikes to allow them to work better in traffic.

HeHe!!! Hey Dave! Yep, I've done that! What a pisser too! I also just sit out there and just look em over. The upkeep is no problem. I just cycle thru em as necessary. Now the cleaning, that's a whole nuther story! But I've got a new Detailer Girl that makes house calls! She's coming by tomorrow to wash em all, and detail Cybil and the WG! Gives me plenty to do, and that's just FINE BY ME!!! :2vrolijk_21: ;)

Gotta tell ya spyd, between all 5, I really can't decide which is most fun! Cybil's the best Touring bike I've ever owned! I call the WG my "Real Bike", she rides fantastic now and is also VERY fast! Joy rides like a DREAM and is a real beauty!!! The ProStreet's FAST AS HELL! and the Bobber's a pisser to ride in the city and prolly gets the most "looks"! I have fun with all of em! :2vrolijk_21: ;)Yeah, by 'pisser to ride in the city', you mean your 'kidneys' get punched up pretty good by the hardtail and the city's nasty holes, etc.......right? :zHole: har! spyder

5 thoughts Jim,
1) Sell the treadmill, you can use the money for new chrome!
2) I looked and looked for the fridge and finally found it. Why isn't the beer in it instead of on the floor beside it?

I dont really like ford trucks and that one is bas a$$ !!I have always been a GM guy until I bought the 06' Harley truck. It was really nice but when I saw this I knew I had to have it. It has a reverse cam and Nav system. Not to mention the offroad capabilities. It comes with "FOX" triple by pass racing shocks. Ford says you can buy this truck and go out and jump it and its still under warranty. I may never get it airborn but I am happy to have a 4X4 with 35" tall tires and a E locker rear axle for the winters here in Michigan. Plus it will look really good pulling my trailer to Daytona this year!
Nice truck, you might enjoy this.Very cool video! Thanks.

Yeah it was weird. Whitehall, which is about 10 miles north got about 18 inches or so and we only got 4-5 inches. South of us got hit hard too. Grand haven is only 15 miles south and they got pounded too. I guess we will calk that up to snow bands / lake effect. LOL
You and Bikerbum can keep the white stuff up there. :cherry:

Small world ay? I lived in Oak Lawn for a few years. Had an apartment just off of 111th and Cicero. Lived in Palos Hills as a kid, went to Stagg HS. I've had a house in Worth for the past 15 years or so. Yeah, I'll probably keep the Beemer and sell the RK. I rode the Beemer to Alaska and back in 05 so it has sentimental value.we probably stomped the same ground Back in da day
Oh yeah need this too!Love the Shovel Head I think it's the best looking engine HD ever made!!!!!

How come yard tools are gifts for guys and kitchen appliances will get you killed or worse? :nixweiss:
yeah no kidding. I bought my wife one of those Dyson ball vac. for Christmas and was warned to make sure I bought her something nice to go along with it. I bought her an attachment kit for it. Good thing I also bought her one of those net books too.
BTW..... We just bought her a new mini van at the end of November and I was all about getting her the Weather Tech mats to keep the floor looking good and stuff off the carpet. She thought it was a nice idea but not a Christmas gift. LOL
I do not understand why women don't like our gift ideas...... Heck I was so proud of her for thinking of the snow blower. It will be used and it is all about getting a job done! I thought the vac was the same idea. Oh well
Today its me sitting next to my Bird hating this frigging weather :bigcry: 18 degrees and snowing! Why in the hell did I ever leave California? :alcohol:
Air quality, water quality, traffic, schools, fires, earthquakes, sewage spills, price of housing, unemployment, State budget deficit. Those are some of the things I remind myself of at this time of year when it's 12 below here in Minnesota and I think of our old home in San Diego.
Now, on the plus side there is the weather, Mexican food, great produce in the grocery stores, the weather, the ocean, all of the scenic beauty in the mountains and along the coast, the weather, Disneyland, Hollywierd, the weather, the coast highway, the national parks, the weather, the wineries, the lookers and, of course, the weather.
We've been back in Minnesota for 19 years now and I wouldn't go back to San Diego unless I had unlimited funds but, at this time of year, it does make you go WTF!
That is so funny, I got my wife the weather tech mats for her jeep for XMas ( I did get her something to go along). I would definitely recommend the mats!!
Yeah I have a set in my F 250 from Cabela's and love them. That is why I decided to get them for the van. I too highly recommend them to anyone who whats to protect their carpet.
Topper
The Weather tech mats are good and I use them but whenever I can I buy "Nifty" particularly the Extreme mats. They are better and contain all the liquid the weather techs spill over at the edges.Yeah but the Weather Tech mats I got are designed to drain out via the door sill. Which means you don't have to keep dumping out the mats like I did with the husky liners.
Unfortunately they do not make the Nifty custom fit mats for all vehicles but they do for most American makes and German SUV's No luck for my Mercedes Sedans :nixweiss:
Check them out at www.mats4less.com
Always surprised how people can spend tens of thousands on a nice ride and wont go a couple hundred on good mats?
Kinda like riding a CVO with a factory seat?
I've still got my stock seat on and it will be 6 years come July. Heck I've come within 75 miles of doing a 1K Iron Butt ride on it. I guess I"m a hard @$$. :nixweiss: :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2:

Still have to be emptied but looks much improved!
Unfortunately for me none for my vehicles. Still using Wether Tech mats :2vrolijk_21: just the old school models :nixweiss:

Did the above garage picture turn out that way (bike license plates) because of the camera "flash" or have they been (treated) with the spray to make them unreadable to "Stop Light" cameras that are now in several cities??????
If so, I'd like to know what you used and/or how you made it work. I bought a can of that spray and then took a pic of my bike and I could still read the plate numbers after spraying it multiple times. :nixweiss:

First year of the "Supra" only 75 Red Hard Top cars made, all were twin turbo 6 speed cars due to the stiffer body. What really sets this one apart is it is a Factory wing-less version and no one has the numbers on it, our guess is it is one of maybe 5 made.

Nice looking dually! The most iMportant part is what's inside. :worthless:
Painted this up this past weekend. Scraped off all the decals and cleaned it up... then I said screw it, it needs some paint.
The orange doesn't look right in this pic, it's either because of the camera phone or the lighting. It looks better in person. I'm building some cool handles for both doors.

This and the wifes Tahoe sits in my garage. Planning on getting started on it real soon to have it all prettied up by Spring time. It's great to take out on Sunday drives.
Thanks! Thats one cool refrigerator :coolblue: :coolblue:
The door handles where are the handles what did you fabricate or decide to use leaving us hangin is not very nice. Just sayin. Really would like to see the finished product.I haven't had any weekends off since I painted it. It's still exactly as it is, in this picture. I'm off this weekend and plan to build the handles tomorrow, I gotta run to Home Depot to get a few pieces of hardware for it first. If I get them done, I'll post them right away. ;)
Latest addition to the garage. It's the right color and it sure gets the job done!
We had a guy in the neighborhood that spoiled us last year with a John Deere with a cab, I plowed for the heck of it most weekends and caught about 8 or 10 friends if they were around (vacation homes).
So when we started to look at this year and he took his tractor to a commercial enterpise he has nearby, I decided to just solve the concern.
Looks like I'll be a semi-commercial snow guy this year. Some folks won't let me plow any longer for the half gallons of Crown I asked for last year. Besides, I have plenty of Crown in reserve now :drink:
Ahh, the good old free enterprise system! Better enjoy it while we can!

Wow! there is my next purchase!
WOW...that's one serious toy!Actually has a license plate. The local cops just stare. In California they would impound it.
Are there many restrictions on where you can take it? Is it for serious baja type (fast) racing? Or rock crawling? Seems like it'd be too heavy in the rear for the crawling.
Actually has a license plate. The local cops just stare. In California they would impound it.
Definitely not a rock crawler, two wheel drive. I have seen 112MPH on the GPS recall. Its all desert racer.

Nice lookin' TR6. I'm sure the convert top must be in great shape too, the physical location of the car suggests it has minimal decent weather to enjoy much milage and/or the top down.

Orange / Black Electraglide, Lowrider, Deuce, Harley 250MX, Ford Raptor, Searay Boat, Snowblower and enclosed trailer. OCD,.... Maybe. But thinking about it is giving me a headache. I have to go take some Orange Motrin and wash it down with my Faygo Orange Pop!Now if they were all the same shade of orange, you could buy touch-up paint by the gallon and save money. :) har. spyder

Last one...Great looking little car!
Recent aquisition. Got tired of the Matrix, so sold it and bought this Saturday. Mazda3 S 5 Door Grand Touring. A lot of car for the money, IMO. Fun to drive...handles like a sports car, and has a lot of power for it's weight. I got the Grand Touring version...leather, Bose stereo w/10 speakers/265W, Nav, BT, heated seats, self leveling Xenon headlights that turn 15 degrees to light up turns better at night, 17" wheels. Neat little car, and practical for our needs at this time. Different color...Dolphin Gray...sort of has a Blue/Green tint over gray. Next year, we'll get a big azzed truck in preperation for the 5th Wheel Toy Hauler. Downsizing everything in the next couple of years so we can spend time on the road...might be visiting a town near you. ;)
Did you consider the Mazda3 SPEED version at all?
Were you able to deal on the car or was it held close to MSRP?
DH
I could have sold it myself (I usually do that), but didn't want the hassle this time.Dang, I want one! You're still a good salesman, TC. ;) har. spyder
This car has 167HP @ 6000 RPM, and 167 TQ @ 4000 RPM, tied to a 5 speed "intelligent" automatic. EPA ratings are 22/29 mpg. It has a "manual" mode, which amounts to a slap stick, if you want to override the auto shift points. It's "smart" though...will keep the car in the same gear entering and exiting a curve. Fun to drive, and a lot of bang for the buck with some of the techy features. Quiet ride too, with very good feedback from steering inputs. The stereo is kiss azz...
My numbers matching 69' Roadrunner convertible.Outstanding ride.

This winters project, a 1971 FX.Wow, for some this is a picture of love, hope and promise. For others, like me, it's just plain scary!
This winters project, a 1971 FX.Sweeeeet! You don't see many of those boat tails around. Looks like you got all the good stuff. Should be a great project! Post some pics when you get her back together? :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:
Magic,
Thank you for the additional photos. In the states, that would be a rare find. Are there many of them where you are ? Some of us have talked about a European CVO ride in 2008 . I would love to bring home something like this old bike as a " souvenier " I mean it's only fair since we send you brand new CVO's while we wait for the here- - is it not ? ;D
B B
In 1971 I bought a 1970 XLCH (I loved it, It hated me), when what I really wanted was the 1971 Sparkling America Super Glide that sat beside it in the showroom, but it was $500 or $600 more, a lot of money for an apprentice electrician. I've owned numerous Harleys since but that 71 always stuck in my mind, so when I retired a few years ago I found one off ebay. It had a 6 over front end, a seat, pipes and rear fender off a 1973 FX and a few parts had been chromed but the motor was stock, the numbers matched and most of the stock parts came with it. It's just about winter here and time to start working on it so I've had the frame powdercoated and the tanks, fenders and boat tail painted, but other than that most parts will just be cleaned up and a few chrome parts will be replaced. It's more of a rescue than a restore.Great project! Keep us update as it goes together and have fun! Enjoy your winter!
An original Night Train. You see one of these machines around from time to time. It appears that this machine was customized to some extent; lot’s of chromed goodies. The transmission housing even looks as though it has been polished or otherwise finished.
Nice to see an original Bendix Carburetor, and it looks like you have some experience servicing the early dry clutch; the large washer holding the pressure plate together is something that most folks didn’t think of.
A couple of other interesting, but somewhat useless pieces of trivia:
The outer primary cover was common to the FL’s; it sported a footboard mount up front that wasn’t used.
The inner primary housing was unique to this kickstart only machine. The inner primary housing was not machined to accept a starter solenoid.
After ’73 the kickstart machines had a plate covering the hole for the solenoid. Is that a starter solenoid just to the right of the front brake back plate assembly? I’ll bet that chrome cover just to the right of the engine fits a large electric start battery. It’s funny now, but in that era electric start was an indication of a small sack; there were a lot of kick start machines sold back then; I bought a new ’74 FX. In the later ‘70’s, there were a pile of electric start kits sold and installed; my FX became an FXE.
The rear brake linkage was unique to the ’71 FX, with the master cylinder mounted up front, FL style. This linkage arrangement didn’t produce enough leverage to slow the machine with any useful degree of enthusiasm.
I believe that the ’71 ignition switch still had a “parking lamp” position.
Nice machine; good luck with rescue! :2vrolijk_21:
The fact you know all this...is just plain scary... :nervous:
....Yes those outer primarys are hard to come by, mine is proper but it's been chromed, some day I'll find a polished one. No "electric foot" on this one, just the small battery and the kick start.....
More than scary, it's age defining.
;)

Is your garage actually carpeted with painted sheetrock, wainscoting, and trimmed out windows with shades or do you store you bike in the house? Either way, it's good to be your bike!
When I decided to build that 4 car add-on garage, I decided to have it completely finished. It has a full bathroom, finished apartment upstairs, heated and air conditioned. I have many friends that live out of state and this gives them a place to stay when they come to visit. My MC's do sit on carpet because the concrete floor was finished with this gray, shiny, like polymer finish that is beautiful and easy to keep clean but makes for a slippery floor if it is wet. I pulled my mc in one day after I got caught in a rain and when I put my wet feet down on the floor I just kept sliding, so that was when I went and bought a piece of carpet that covered that whole side of the garage. And yes, my bike's are spoiled!

Our 1962 Mustang Bronco. They were made in CA from 1947 to 1964. They had several model names; Bronco, Pony, Stallion, Thoroughbred, etc. They were quite the ticket, back in the day when everyone was riding Cushman's, before the Honda 50's & 65's flooded our shores.
Love the ole pole lights. :2vrolijk_21: spyderYou should see it when the bikes are out the way and the dancers... oh... nevermind.... I was thinking of the other pole he has in the garage/shop. :D :D :D

Don, that old air hose counter hanging on the wall....is that authentic or a replica? Looks so good as if if might be 'functionable' ??? Remember when all the stations had those w/ free air not that long ago it seems. spyder
Those were neat items and it looks like Don's works...is that a hard pipe going up the wall next to it with a ball valve?
Didn't most of those things have a little crank on the side to set the pressure to the deisired lbs and then it would "ding" while you put air in the tire?
I have Garage Envy...

TC, you had one thing Don doesn't have, his own police officer outside your garage. :nervous:
That old airmeter is functional Spyder. Even still has the original paper roll with models and their associated tire pressures listed. So I can find out what air pressure a Hupmobile would have needed any time I want to!I remember those well.....had one at the corner service station with the dinging bell and all.......shouldn't known yours was fully functional. The " bugled hood" , just for looks. Carbon fiber, light weight. Melrose headers, 3" all the way back, Fusion mufflers. 19 & 20" Weld wheels.A C6 getting only 160hp at the rear wheel? Doesn't a stock one come in significantly higher than that? Perhaps you meant 460hp to the rear wheel? :nixweiss:
Pfadt coil-overs. Tuned-160hp to the rear. Handles very well and fast enough for me...
My bad. I changed it to the correct number. 360hp
Yes, The CTS-V has the mesh grille, just like my new 2012 V Wagon, and it's fast too with 556 HP, it went 12.02 at 115.66 bone stock, 2 weeks after I got it.

My 11.5 Blue CVO sits in the garage beside my wifes 06 1200 sportster with 1700 miles & that has way to much money in it for no more than she rides it, custom paint, stage one etc. etc.
Behind them sits her 2011 Ford Raptor, Black with all options. Great truck
Beside it sits my 2012 Ford single wheel F-350 Black with lift kit & Pro comp wheels & tires to Match ( I love it )
We have way to much money tied up in vehicles.
My garage is 30x50 but does not compare to some i have seen on here. Maybe later
Not to offend anyone but i think most CVO riders have way to much money . . . . .
It's not that CVO owners have too much money, they have too many CVO's !!! :huepfenlol2:

Nice I like that.

When I'm not on my Harley I'm on this
Living on the lake, a turbo charged jet ski is a must, an 09 rocket.
Hmmm..... I live on a lake, and jetskis going round in little circles - thump - thump -thump - for 10 hours a day all summer drive me nuts (along with every other person living here. >:(I love them, and the lake I am on is Huge, 90 miles from Dam to Dam. 2 miles across from my house. Rarely are there any jetskis running near my home. Being mine is a 4 stroke it is quieter than most the fast boats on the lake, quieter than my boat.
The place for jetskis is in the ocean, not on a lake. Just think how much you'd like it if you were having a nice summer outdoor barbeque and I turned up and rode my noisy bike round in little circles all day, outside your house.
Jetskis are creations of Satan if you ask me! :D
Jim

Bass boats are what annoy me, 0530 take off, 30 plus going by the house. Wakes you up when your trying to sleep.

5 Gallon bucket???That is funny. Sorry for your mistake. I was wondering if she rode the bucket or in the trailer!
I thought I posted another picture right after but it isn't there... Notice the Carbon Fiber Mufflers. This has a fuel injection tuner as well as the intake opened up. It was faster than mine before she ;) got the work done and I got the stuff done to mine and I could blow her doors off... Now she can keep up in a drag race, but then I can too!! :D

Love the Honda :2vrolijk_21:That's odd....I don't remember my 305 superhawk having a forward kicking pedal. Must have been a earlier model. :confused5: spyder
These were a bit odd. The 305 Superhawk like yours has a forward kicking kick pedal and the Superhawk Scramblers with high pipes had the traditional rear kicking kick pedal.
I liked the Triumph as well. :2vrolijk_21:

Think you mean S-W-E-E-T. Unless you perspire when you see Camaros.
A Ferrari but Martha had a small accident this morning.... >:(That happened in FT Smith Arkansas! I know the guy that owned the Ferrari. The guy in the truck was flying up a hill in front of the house, crossed the yard and I think the door helped him ramp right on top. Previous owner of the house had someone come thru the door also. Big rocks in the yard now by the road! :)
You can almost see the roller blades next to my CVO.....they didn't go fast enough for me!

A 74 that got totaled, a 64 I was going to fix up but traded for a 70 model that I put the motor out of the 74 in!! Wish I had them all back!! Nothing really faster than a Mopar I say, buck for buck!!

I recently acquired this bicycle & I can see the hide skinned off already...
My wife's mustang.Your bride's Mustang is smokin!
Nothing exotic, but here's the new addition to the household...2012 Mazda CX-9 Grand Touring. Loaded with everything but a sink, and capable of towing up to 3500 lbs (it has a tow package), so I'll eventually get a trailer for the bike and finally have something that I can pull it with.
Went in for an oil change (free one) for my Mazda 3 5dr...expensive oil change!
I'd been looking at them on line for a couple of months, so knew what I wanted, and they just happen to have one sitting on the lot. I got a smokin' hot deal on it, so couldn't pass it up. We needed a larger car anyway, so this one will be a keeper.
It's close in color to the bike, but not exact...a bit of a copper tinge to the paint. They call it Copper Red Mica. As everyone knows, Red is the fastest color. :apple:

not really my garage but it is my warehouse LOLLooks like a couple of 1982 Honda's, CBX and XR200R, and some kind of a Yamaha in the middle. I don't know what the others are. The Japs made some good bikes in the early 80's. They sure don't make anything now that I would want.

The Bonnie
Nice bikes! Been thinking about a 60's or 70's Bonneville for a 2nd bike. What's it like?
Also have a 1957 M21 for sale nearby, basically original equipment. Tempting, but only goes about 45 mph without shaking to pieces.
It rides to me like an 80s model Yamaha 650 Special

Had one of those back in the day, right after I sold the 1961 TR6C - once I learned how to use the compression release, it was a real "stump" puller.
Rode it in two "Jack Pine" enduros, still have both Cow Bells somewhere ?
Great collection. :2vrolijk_21:
That's nice JC, did you just buy this truck. ???
Beautiful CBX. I have wanted one every since I heard my first one with aftermarket pipes. Sounds like a formula 1 race car.
Every once in a while I go to youtube just to get a CBX fix.

Nice car Dan,, :2vrolijk_21: Did you buy new or used? Looks new to me
, I'm averaging over 30 mpg. I'm hoping for a bit more as it breaks in.
Wow,, 30 MPG is not bad. We have a 2012 Acura ILX with the 2 Liter and barley getting 32. You're going to love the comfort and the quietness. Our Acura is road noisy and it drives me nuts. One of our friends has a nice 2013 Lincoln MKS and I can't believe how quite it drives, night and day over our Acura. My wife and I are in the looks for a better car, I think we will check out the Buicks. :2vrolijk_21:
I pushed the bikes out the door and brought this home last week. Would you believe it.....a stock diesel (with twin liquid cooled turbos) that'll spen those 20" wheels laying down a patch of rubber 20' long! :2vrolijk_21: Not exagerated, it's fact! Of course I had to go with the Lariet package and the FX-4 package (skid plates, beefed up suspension, shocks, etc.) along with the chrome package and the seats are heated and air conditioned (we need both here in Nor Cal). 17.5 mpg in a 4x4 super duty isn't to bad and 530 miles to the first tank of fuel. It's a fun truck to drive......

and to keep the truck company, we got it a companion.............the Fox Mountain 235RLS. It's an aluminum framed lightweight (7020 lbs. dry weight....that was designed to be pulled by a half ton truck) 5th wheel that is also an all season trailer (belly is sealed and all plumbing is in heated space and rated down to -20F) with dual pane windows and large holding tanks that are also heated. We bring this little toy home tomorrow morning.

WOW! Love the truck but I think you're gonna wish you bought at least a 32' trailer. I'm happy you went with the 5th wheel, they pull so much better :2vrolijk_21: When's the first camping trip??

Good luck with it, very nice.
My scooter sits in the garage under the house with a couple of other scooters, and a John Deere. But if I'm at my shop, it sits beside this.
Thanks mi amigo Duane....I wanted to go but after Vegas I went to Fort Jackson for my son's graduation in the boot camp. He is in Fort Eustis, VA at this moment for AIT and aviation school. Yes, I saw that rally last year.....
Have a great birthday mi amigo!!

Just got my new NRC conversion home from Indianna. Should like sweet with the Stardust Silver CVO Roadglide under the awning. Can't wait for summer-oh wait, why not just go to Phoenix in the winter-lol.
Being a 67 model myself I've always had a thing for Big Block 1967 original Corvettes. Don't go to Scottsdale in January on a Saturday night and have a drink or 2 or 4. Or this happens.

No it is a 427/400 a/c coupe. Car has 17 options which is a big deal for 1967. Very similar to a 435 the 400hp is actually a rarer find than a 435 it does have the Tri power carbs. Car runs great. All 5 miles I've put on it. :)shes a beauty man!!! It looked like an old customers car just wondering thanks Randy
Car sold in Jan 68 from a Chevy dealer in Tulsa, Ok and stayed there 40 years then was bought and headed east.

Got an update for this thread. The oldest stepson is stationed in Afghanistan and has been wanting a "toy" to drive around when he's home on leave. I told him to see what's available and I'd do the legwork. He ended up with this little MR2 Spyder for a nice price. Talk about a fun little car to drive. I wouldn't mind having one but then I'd have 3 nice weather toys.

(Spoiler, the M5 barely edged out the CTS-V... but when factoring in the extra $25k for the BMW, they give the edge to the CTS-V)
I'm shooting for a used 2012 Black Diamond Edition (upgraded paint, $2,300 Recaro racing seats, yellow Brembo brake calipers), which is gonna run me $50k+. New they start at $63.

Yes it is a 68 GTX. Medium blue with white vinyl top, interior and side stripe, automatic A/C car.rite on mvent we have had a chit pot of em still got a few and theres gonna be a few more if we keep breathing for a while, theres pics back around page 130, like your Kawi's too! :2vrolijk_21:

Here is my other project. Dint have a picture yet of the bike with Roland Sands Air Cleaner and Vance and Hines Big Bend Duals.Wow, your "project" sure started out a lot better than any I've had! :2vrolijk_21:
No it is a 427/400 a/c coupe. Car has 17 options which is a big deal for 1967. Very similar to a 435 the 400hp is actually a rarer find than a 435 it does have the Tri power carbs. Car runs great. All 5 miles I've put on it. :)
Car sold in Jan 68 from a Chevy dealer in Tulsa, Ok and stayed there 40 years then was bought and headed east.
My dad had a 2 door CTS-V, but now has the CTS-V 4 door version. And he has a C6 Corvette (which I'm sure will soon become a C7) - and his newest acquistion, a new Camaro... (He turns 80 this Saturday... :confused5:)Have had both the M5 and the CTS-V,
NICE... IS THERE A 2013 FORD EDITION??
Doesn't look like it as of yet. Local dealer stated as much and Ford website doesn't show the HD truck for either an F150 or a Superduty model....interesting they didn't (or haven't yet done it) as it's the 110 anniversary year... :nixweiss:Maybe Ram will finally get the contract!
It would be hard to compete with above, but here are few of my other toys:Did someone say Avalanche?? :2vrolijk_21:

Chip,Oh no....that's exactly what is not needed. Your mature judgement is the ticket. har. spyder
Price was right, little over 3,000 miles, not bad for a 23 year old bike. Unfortunately you are 100% correct about how fast it can go. 6th gear crank on at 60 puts you to 90 so fast it is scary. 0 to 60 2.8 seconds. Really for a 23 year old bike it needs a 23 year old driver.
May need to switch to a couple of scooters after riding it.
And stuffYep, I'm sure of it!!!!! ;D
Life has been good to me, sometimes I have to go the garage and pinch myself to see it its real. And some times my wife kicks me in the ass to remind me it is.She's a Cutie!!!! :)
:)
I don't have enough money to hang out on this thread? ;D
Nice to see lots of America iron sitting in those garages; there's a great message in that. I bow my head in shame, as I stepped away from my Suburbans after realizing they were all being made in Mexico whereas my current Toyota Tundra was made in Princeton, Indiana & Huntsville, Alabama. Our last Ford product was an '84 Mustang GT 5.0 Liter convertible. It was replaced by an '04 Honda S2000.
As for the boats, haulers, etc. Awesome! For us, our long-term hobby/sport of choice has been cycling so our CVO is surrounded by bikes, but most don't have motors... cept the folks who pedal 'em. Sad thing is, I think we have more $$ tied up in the bicycles than we do the Harleys! Yeah, it's pretty sad when a 28 lb carbon tandem bicycle costs about as much as a Wide Glide; justifying the CVO is a piece of cake compared to that!

GM finally accepted my order, for a couple months the Z51, carbon fiber top and carbon fiber dash was on constraint on those were must have options of me.
I have an Artic White LT3 Z51 on order. It will have the Carbon Flash spoiler, mirrors and hood stinger strip with the exposed carbon fiber top. Black rims and the brownstone Napa leather interior with the seven speed manual. It will be late March before I will get it. So very anxious to get it.

From my experience (indirect) with other friends with 4 cylinder bikes like the Honda/Kows/etc. Once you have those multiple carbs "dialed in", ride that baby frequently.............or you WILL HAVE ONGOING PROBLEMS.
Recent add...Beautiful ride! Have any of you vette owners ever worked with Lingenfelter racing ? John and his first wife both grew up about five miles from here. The engine improvements he made on his custom vettes were monumental and in some form are still in use at GM today. The last time we talked was at Maple Grove about a year before his crash. He won his class that day with a 6 second run in a Sonoma pickup.
:drink:Dialing them in was pretty easy, if no mechanical problems. Had a board with 4 vacuum gauges mounted on it, crankum til they matched as close as possible, then ride man , just ride. Now the points.....thats another ball o wax!!!

New, old 1997 Heritage Springer!nice bike :2vrolijk_21: good find!! those motors are said to be one of the best.
Just purchased 1997 Heritage Springer Softail. 1292.8 Miles!
Originally from the Island of Kauai, Hawaii, then to Ormond Beach, Florida.
It know sits next to the other Harleys in the garage!
Finally found a Colorado locally with the 5.3 V8. Had found one in Painted Post, NY but never got a chance to visit. So now this one is in (or beside) the garage now. 300 HP on a Colorado really changes that truck. Just wish I could'a found a Red one..... ;D :huepfenlol2:A 4" suspension lift and some 33" tires will really make that stand out. I have a buddy that did that to his. Funny thing, That has the same drive train as my avalanches and his is a terrible gas hog compared to mine.

Don't know if I can hang out with this crowd :nixweiss: I'm a cheap azzz. My new to me 2012 Mazda 6 -Gotta say, Mazda 6 is a great car!
Bought this back in late December, lots of fun to drive.
Turns out my wife never liked it much with "those little wheels and tires" so this time around we put the rear-end back to stock height, raised the front end to level it and then added some new wheels and tires; way less costly than a new truck so it's good for another 8 years & 100,000k miles.

Big Dog Wolf....pretty fun ride....Bike looks fun. Interesting tail light on that red car in the barn too......
Thanks... She's usually right about these things. She's more of a car / bike geek than I am when it comes to "style". In fact, she's never forgiven me for replacing our CBR1100XX with the BMW R1100S Boxer Cup Replica; she doesn't think it is nearly as comfortable or stylish. She also had zero interest in riding our R1150RT, so it only stayed in the stable for about a year.I had an older customer last fall with one in the garage he was wanting to sell. Dunno if I could find his house again though as I'm not out in that very much. Hell, I don't think the thing had 10k on the clock.
On the other hand, she was all-in and pushed hard for the CVORK once we started doing longer trips on the Wide Glide, but put up some serious objections to me selling the Wide Glide. About the only thing she'd be agreeable to would be me finding someone with an '03 SE Duece FXSTDSE who was willing to trade. That's the only H-D cruiser that she likes more than our Wide Glide.
....

Are those monkey bars from Yaffe? Can you snap a pic without the windshield? Great toys man! I just got back from Maryville for the weekend. East TN is quite nice.Yes, 14" Paul Yaffe OEM Monkey bars on both the Road Glide and the Road King. Late next week when I get back on land I will get the picture you want.
Here's my slammed 1949 Ford F1
Here's my slammed 1949 Ford F1We have an Abate member that is in a wheel chair and has this same truck slammed as well but in the back is his stretched out trike made especially for him with really wide tires and leather straps on the sides to keep his legs from falling out. On one of our weekend campouts it was pouring down rain and I looked out to see him doing doughnuts in the grass with the biggest smile on his face and I cheered him on cause guys like him need to be able to do stuff like that. I have since always waved to him when I see him arrive and he always smiles and waves back.
Pretty darn cool. Flathead??
My Dad just sold his collection of 49-51's including a totally rebuilt flathead V-8 that was still on the stand.
I am just waiting for some one to post there Harley sitting next to a HUGE pile of money. You know, the size of the pile that Walt had on Breaking Bad. I think we are getting close though. :PWell, it's really not "next" to my Harley but it is in my garage in the right side saddle bag. ;D
I keep mine in my Gym bag. I figure no one would ever look in there!
Since I keep my gun under my pillow the wife and I bring the cash in from the bike every evening. :)
Gotta love them old Bowties.........and RED too!!! Wanna trade for a nice '56 Sports Coupe or as most people would call "a 2dr Hardtop??

Really nice job.......to bad it has so many doors :(I need 4 doors for weddings and school prom runs.
I've had to re-arrange the garage, but somehow it's all in there, Dodge RAM, Dodge Durango, Scag zero-turn mower, Honda Rancher, Honda 250EX, Crownline 210LPX, Road Glide, and Street Glide. Not to mention refrigerator, freezer, gun safe, washer/dryer, work bench, tanning bed, 2 tool boxes, bathroom, numerous shelves with crap I can't even identify.

AMF years were '69 to '81... and the AMF logo went on the tanks in '71.

Not sure if the AMF logo was a sticker added to the tanks and easily removed on early '71's or why some '71 FXs don't have them on the tank. Anyone??
That is my ultimate favorite car.X2 I miss my Blue 79 TA

Sweet looking bike. Details?
New to us "used" 2010 Supercharged Range Rover.
Bought this three years ago to commute to work. Don't need it any more but I love it and it's dead handy for popping into town on. It's not doing too bad for 34 years old but is not the quickest thing on the planetI have one almost like it 70s 125 Teal color. I recovered it buried in my dads garage last year when he passed it has about 6k on it and my younger brother bought it new. I will have to get a pic and post.

Loves me da Range Rovers. That's a beauty, Jimmy. The landlord for our business property buys a new Range Rover every year (yes, he's what I would call wealthy....and a great guy to boot). He tries to bring the new one by after each purchase so I can drool on it a bit.....
He averages about 25K on each one so he's on the road quite a bit. And yes, it's a purchase, not a lease.
Enjoy that '10, Jimmy.
Takes some getting used to , when i can
Fusion is gone replaced by this beauty. 2013 335i with 20,000 miles on the clock. First BMW we've owned. While the MINI is owned by BMW, it's still a British product so doesn't count. Looking forward to many good miles in ths one...Very nice, is that the one you were just looking at?
Very nice, is that the one you were just looking at?
Yes sir and thanks for directing me to Rick....top notch. We weren't planning on doing anything until next year but they made it oh so difficult. Got one heck of a deal and Vickie loves it. The thing does everything but cook breakfast for ya (and it probably does that, too....I just haven't found it in the manual)
Reeder had a boat load of 2014 CPO 'ray's on the showroom floor and two new '15's with the 8 speed automatic. They also had the '15 Camaro Z28 with the 7 liter Vet motor.....dat tang is a hawse.

You folks are close, it a 50. My dad and I found it in 1981 in an abandoned farm stead and promptly tracked down the owner and purchased it from the estate. It's been a labor of love ever since. It was such a good father - son experience, I am doing something similar with my son, only on a smaller scale. He is restoring my old 77 750 Honda that I bought new. Lots of work left, but it's getting there.Awesome!!!! Keep the tradition going. :2vrolijk_21:

Still have my second street bike I ever bought, when I was a teen. It's an 1986 Ninja 1000R. Doesn't get much seat time but, I just can't get myself to sell it..too many memories..lol
Yep, been looking for awhile. Narrowed down to a SC430 or a 328i. Finally went with the sewing machine. The straight 6 in the 328i is probably the best motor BMW has ever built, so it was a tough choice. I know (and almost bought) of a '07 328i HT/Conv with 40k 1 owner miles, creampuff. Anyone interested can PM me.
If you look at the picture on my profile here, you'll see what sits in my garage BEHIND my Harley......it's a 1956 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. She's all original, including the paint she was given 51 years ago.
A snowblower. I live outside of chicago and we got 16 inches yesterday.
As U-2 saidCongratulations Jimmy nice find.

Hmmm....is there such a thing as too many toys??? I am thinking probably not...I am also thinking I am a bit jealous. Maybe the picture was taken from above in your very own helicopter. :)
Pretty Cool!!!

Sweet. I still crave an old British classic bike to relive my earlier biking days but seem to remember spending more time working on them than riding them. That's why I got into Harley's lol

OK, so its not a Vette

It's difficult to have enough garage space for many of us. I would bet most posting here would really like to have additional garages than what they currently have. :nixweiss:

Mine isnt a matter of whats beside my harley as much as it is what I will be able to put next to my harley! 48 x 36 and just need to add electric and insulation... outside is done!
I waited 47 years to have my own garage!

The underground bunker deal is really not that hard........if you have the coin for something like this guy has.

I like the fact that the guy actually mentioned Corvettes. See nothing goes quite as well with Harley's as Vettet's. Oh the garage is nice to.
I dunno........a new Challenger Hellcat who look mighty fine between by bikes..jmho. ;DI'll take the Corvette, Hellcat may have more power, but the Stingray will win on a race track or anything else that requires turning.....

Yeah that's a great looking grey pickup truck. I also like the old school looking building behind. However, and this may be a little like 'Mr. Obvious' or maybe it's just my old eyes playing tricks, but why is the shadow of the pickup on the left side of the picture and the shadow of the building towards the right.
...just saying. :nixweiss:
Geez, all fun toys in the garage :nixweiss:Sounds about right Duane lol.
Sitting in my garage next to the Harley are new Bosch dishwasher, gas range and micro :-\

When Deb came out to the garage to help cut the cartoons open and see what I bought (didn't tell her other then going for a dishwasher), she was duly impressed exclaiming wow what nice additions. I told her, nothing but the best for the cook in my life.................
Didn't go as planned from there on
Appears photoshopped (photochopped) on the two truck pics. While distracting doesn't take away from the trucks themselves.
well if it matters I am working on the Ferris ZTR mower today. New mulching blades and I am building a dis charge plug for mulching.. I get it no time for the toys most days any ways.
The 62 is gunsmoke grey metallic Single stage matt paint made by hot rodz flatzthat was my guess...i got an 83 malibu wagon with the hot rodz flatz purple, which i think is what you have on the wheels and grill :2vrolijk_21:
Soon to add a Range Rover Evoque come Tuesday (on the downside it won't match my bike color).
That's great news - it's my first Rover. Tomorrow's the big day - bye, bye, 4-Runner, hello Range Rover.
Hmmm...I thought I read somewhere on this site that jdpowers rated Range Rover as one of the worst dependable auto makers in the world...or was that second worse???
Good Luck with your new ride.
2nd worse in reliability - repairs needed.

Yep, read that. Owned a Toyota FJ Crusier, had far more problems in 23K miles than the Range Rover Evoke has in 48K miles. Only real issues I have had with it is the power lift and close hatch. Gets out of whack every now and then. Other than that NO issues. In a year or two we may trade it for the new Sport if it proves as reliable.Dave, I gotta ask. How in the hell do you two rack up so many miles? Averaging about 24k per year on every vehicle you post about. Except the Vette.
Far more reliable than any Harley I have ever owned.
Dave, I gotta ask. How in the hell do you two rack up so many miles? Averaging about 24k per year on every vehicle you post about. Except the Vette.I've had my Jeep 16 years. In that time I've put 100 k on it lol. I work 2.5 miles from home.
this and 5 others bikes keep my cvo company...

Hey Dave, that looks like your '14 (same color combo anyway... ;D )
Nice ride, cyco.
Man, after seeing what some of you have I think I'll just go hide in the corner with my head down. Bromebe, that's a beauty ... love the color!
The "Other Mistress" 2012 SL63 AMG
OOOOWEEEE! It says "gimme a ticket" just sitting there... ;D
Very nice ride.....
Many thanks.
Not many people know how qick thse things are 577hp and 0-60 in 3.8 seconds that they'll admit to.
I got the opportunity to go to the Basic AMG Drivers school at Road Atlanta a couple of years ago. It was as they say..."a religious experience".
You sure get to learn first hand from experts what the cars performance potential is, all of its safety features and how well they work.
Regards
Is the 63 the twin turbo or is that the 65? Either way I'm sure it's a blast to ride/drive. The AMG school at Roads would also be a hoot...love that venue anyway but to drive/ride it would be one of those bucket list dealees. Again congrats....
SL65
The 2012 is a 12 cylinder naturally aspirated motor that produces about 5hp more than the SL63 and is 300lbs heavier due to the weight of the 12 cylinder verses the 8 in the SL63.
I think the 2013-2015 SL65's are now biturbo's and agin due to the weight of the block about as fast as the SL63 line.
The Black Series for both models is a whole different animal more horsepower and torque.
It's only a matter of money.
Ain't dat da troof...... ;D
So the 65 is still a V12....was thinking AMG was moving everything back to the V8. Glad to know the 12 is still a cookin, as it were.
BMW does offer a similar drivers school at their SC test track based on what you own. Maybe one day....
Hory sheet!
Jesse, I believe that was the name of the exotic dancer you were trying to remember in that other thread.... :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2: ::)Haha
There's talk about going with 8 cylinder SL65's.
The new rumor for 2016 is a 4 or 6 cylinder with BIG turbos and essentially the same hp.
I think they need to be careful or they will loose their high end customer base who will defect to the competition never to return. (Sounds like harley huh?)
OOPS!! I made a slight change over the weekend. As advice, never, never go window shopping at a car or Harley dealer on the weekend when it's raining to pass the time.Amazing car, congrats!!
I took delivery on one of the very new and extreemly limited 2016 Mercedes AMG GT-S coupes that are just showing up at the dealer. 557 hp with twin turbos, 0-60 in 3.5, 3.6 or 3.7 seconds depending on what and where you read. It's dubbed the Porsche killer :)
+1 on the Amazing Car!!!!

My 2002 C5......I ride my CVO more than my Vette! ;D
I fully understand.
I have a 2014 Stingray, 20 months old and I have 8K miles on it, 3K of which were going back an forth to MI to visit my terminal Mother, she asked me not to ride my motorcycle as she always Hated them.
I have 27K on my 12 month old CVO Road Glide Ultra.
You're killing me Dave! I put 3500 on at Sturgis and that more than doubled the miles (total now 6776). As you recall we got them right around the same time! :-[ :P
Just been too busy and haven't made riding a priority. Hope to change that very soon!! :drink:

I broke down and bought a new boat puller the other day. Love the Ecoboost this is the second one I've had. Also love the 700 pounds Ford shaved off the truck from 2011 to 2015.Very nice. I test drove one of those also. I think the Silvy has a bit of a better ride and that was a big part of my decision. Very tough decision to make though.
Every once in a while we gotta get on the water.Love those old boats. My uncle had one much like this back in the early sixties, I still remember the awesome sound that motor made taking off.

Very Nice. Is that a dealer plate?
My 1996 Jon Moss Signature Series Impala SS with only 7600 miles. This photo was taken 12 years ago as the car is going thru a complete frame off restoration.
Nice car.
That's not a car you usually associate with a frame off restoration. But there are exceptions to every rule.
Back in '01 at the St. Ignace MI car show, I had dinner with Jon Moss. He sat across the table from my wife and I. Very nice guy.
Looked it up, it's a DARE plate. Supports Drug Abuse Resistance Education.
Looks like they eliminated it in June 2014

470 horse power in a Rubicon.....Now that's gotta be FUN!!
I was going to do the 5.7 but decided why not!I can relate to that mentality..
What transmission behind it, Roger? They run the standard 5spd auto and I left it at 4:11 gearing although you can do 4:58 I think it is. http://www.aev-conversions.com/vehicles/jk-wrangler/build-and-price#/exterior (http://www.aev-conversions.com/vehicles/jk-wrangler/build-and-price#/exterior)

Hard to beat them. Once Cindy got an Unlimited I was stuck in the four door. She saw this for the first time this morning and told me I was 12. :huepfenjump3:HAHA. Im sure I would have heard the same. Tell her we said hi, been a long time.
Drove it home and to work this morning, sure drives well, better than my stock Rubi Unltd the way it tracks. Oh, and when you turn off the traction control from a dead stop...HOLD ON!
I'm mounting AMP power side steps today as it is a good jump up to get in.

Taking a quick question, what's in my garage? As typical, you get 3 guesses but the 1st two don't count!

My Smart Roadster is still in the Garage with my 2007 Jester. Both still with me nearly 10 years after the original post. Let's keep this post alive......My older brother works for a company that had a Roadster over here in the US for turbo development and installation. I got to drive it when visiting him. That was a pretty fun car that got a lot of looks.

With that motor stuffed under the hood and just a pickup bed out back, there is some potential to be able to smoke the rear tires (maybe) :nixweiss:
Very sorry for your loss. Losing a sibling, especially a younger one, is almost as bad as losing a child. You probably know that a Porsche Factory slant nose is a very collectible item. If it's going to be sold, make sure you get some serious money for it. Good luck to you!

See you got a couple of BMW'S there DesertHOG,. How are they with repair/maintenance compaired to the Harley's?
BTW, when's your Race Decking going to start?
Racing Deck ... maybe late spring. Will have to see the cost and my budget.do not forget to budget for TV! :2vrolijk_21:
Regarding BMW. With help from friends, I have been servicing the R1200GS myself, even valve adjustments. So that is pretty low cost. The K1600GT gets serviced every 6k miles. My dealer run 20% discount on recommended service all the time so that is around $250. Less if I bring my own oil and filters for them to use. The K1600GT gets new shoes about every 10-12k so that's $50 each to install and the cost of the tires.

It was 2006 and I wanted one bad! My wife, being the wonderful woman she is, thought she would surprise me for my birthday. Well, she went to the dealership and explained to the salesman about this great new car I wanted and all she could remember was it was " something, something R". The salesman knew right away what New car she was talking about. As luck would have it, they had a Black one in stock. She bought it and hid it in the neighbors garage until the day of the big reveal. To this day she talks about the "look on my face" when I saw it. And to this day I have Never told her that it was the wrong thing or how much I Hated driving that stupid HHR. I had to keep it to myself. She would have been crushed if I told her. She thought she was doing the best thing in the world and it was a huge mistake.

Our place in Maggie Valley is almost done. I'm keeping the the Mustang, the 12 SERG, the 18 Goldwing (Blue of course) in Maggie Valley but something was missing. I picked this little toy up so we could leave it in Maggie. How can you live in the mountains and not have a Jeep? I wanted a two door for the trails. This one will go to Maggie in the next 30 days.

Most Excellent! Enjoy!
Very cool Brian!
What year? I need pictures.
I still have the 2500 Chevy ext cab 4wd and it takes a football field to turn it around. That is the reason for the Jeep. Plus a 2 door doesn't take much room.
Work is just all encompassing right now for me but retirement looms brightly.
Then the Harley's, the Rubicon will get lots of exercise.
If it ever stops raining.

That Jeep on the wheels is so cool!
Would love to hit some trails down there with you sometime!
It’s a 2016. I got it with 10,500 on it the week of Thanksgiving. It’s got 18,500+ on it now. Really enjoying it more than I ever thought I would.
It had the super popular silver 5-spoke aluminum wheels on it when I got it. Just had a 2-inch lift, 17x9 Quadratec Rubicon Xtreme wheels and 285/70-17C (33”) BFG KO2s put on last weekend. Made a completely different machine out of it in both looks and performance. Will do bumpers at some point next and then probably lights and eventually a winch.
How about this one. We did this one in the Chevy. Everything was fine but a Jeep would be so much easier.
SBB

Nice looking Jeep Chip. I have a Rubi in black myself and love it. By the way there is a little badge that says Trail Rated. Anyway I can tell you from experience the Lockers work great for plowing through snow. ;D

500 miles before you can go over 4000 RPM. Then also have to have a 500 mile oil change, it's a dry sump car. Once that is done another 1000 miles before you can track the car and keep your warranty. The addition 100o miles is for the brakes and tires to be well burnished.Ron Fellows?? been a long time since i have heard that name. is he still involved in racing?
Un Like Harley, this is warrantied for track use. The first 3 services are also Free.
These are a blast on the road course tracks. I have done Ron Fellows three day professional driving course, and will be going again.

19 BMW Grand America with a few "Harley Mods"..Just curious if they have anything to make the tour pack removable yet?
Just curious if they have anything to make the tour pack removable yet?when they installed my audio system they removed the TP and asked me if they wanted them to set up so I could remove but it wasn't worth it to me for the added expense of all the connections and additional labor to set up as I never intend to remove. Many others have done that though. It would be easier to get a regular Bagger and just add a aftermarket TP with a quick detach which many have also done

A pair of Dodge Chargers. The wife's is on the Right - All Wheel Drive and Hemi (the option was discontinued to the public in 2014) Mine is on the left.Nice! The wife & I are also MOPAR fans. I wish they still offered the AWD with the 392 or I'd have one. We both had Chargers too, but I traded mine for a new Octane Red Challenger GT a couple years ago withe the 3.6 because I wanted AWD .... still a fun car with that 8spd. & 305 HP & goes good in the winter without swapping tires/wheels.

Nice truck! Semper Fi
This time of year a little of everythingLove to see the rest of the Bel air!
It sat here until I could move some bikes up to Maggie Valley to make room for it in the bike garage.
Nice car.
My neighbor has a near perfect 65 GT-350. Restored to as new with the exception of adding the blue stripes. Stripes were a $34-$40 dollar option that didn't get ordered.

Duane , a good friends brother had a white 66 GT-350. I lusted for that car for years!
The 65' GT 350's were the real deal. Holly carbs, Detroit Locker 3rd members, 2 seaters, Koni shocks, 271 hp., 289 cu. in. engines., sintered brakes, Cast aluim. finned valve covers, and cast aluim. deep oil pans that always loosened up.
In 66' Ford got in the act, and a lot of the great parts were replaced with Autolite parts. Carb, shocks, traction Lok rear ends, rear seats, and quarter windows.
I worked for 1 of the largest volume Ford-Shelby dealers in the Northeast from 63' to 70'. I was also instrumental in solidifying the Hertz rental car deal in 66' for Shelby.

Which dealer John?Larsen Ford, White Plains N.Y.

427 Cobra. Shelby flew them into JFK, approximately 50 miles from the dealership. Needless to say they were well broken in, when we got back.
I'll put more Shelby stuff up tomorrow.

Some may remember when this was a work in progress - now a few years later and after my own admittedly "amateur" restoration where every mechanical system was refurbished or replaced, I think it's looking pretty good :2vrolijk_21:

Alright, what the hell is it and it as fast as it looks? It’s a Yamaha FJR 1300 Blood Bike. It’s only as fast as the speed limit unfortunately otherwise I’ll get the charity I volunteer for into trouble!! I think it will only do about 125 mph anyway.

That's cool Dan. 12 years ago was the plan then still to immediately flip it? Or have RV and retirement and life in general created a new time and calculus? Seems a shame not to ride it around for a few days/weeks/months/year or two.... :)
My new ride. Doesn't exactly fit in the garage. Picked it up yesterday after a very long wait. 2022 Bronco Raptor. 418 HP, 440 torque, 37" tires, marine vinyl interior.Awesome. You got the Right color!

I am the poster child for "A fool and his money". Liked the car when they came out as 'coupe only' in 2017. When they did a convertible in 2021, I lost it. '21 Lexus LC500 'vert
