Well this is my first CVO, my last bike was a 2010 Road Glide with a Harley custom paint set along with thousands in extra's.... went to the dealer for some new parts and they had this 2011 Rio Red that just came in so I got all caught up traded in my 2010 and now I am having doubts about my decision? the reason for this is my last bike was bright yellow and there was no tour pack and no big seat........ spoke to the dealer and he said there is no way to make the tour pak detachable due to the amp? anyone have any suggestions? also want to lower the license plate to the bottom of the fender, how can I accomplish this? thanks for all the help.

Check several of the threads but the tour pack can be made detachable. You will have to relocate or replace the amp to the saddlebags or fairing. Lot of people have done it.

Regarding making your TP detachable...

The above threads are for CUSE's but should help/give you an idea of how it can be done.

Regarding retaining/using the H-D amp I know of one person (on a CUSE) that relocated the amp to their saddlebag but most of the others that have made the TP detachable have just removed the amp all together. I don't think you'll find enough room in the fairing to mount it and if I remember correctly there may be an issue of heat and not enough air circulating around the amp when it is in the fairing.

Congrats on the new bike. I read on here you can make the TP detachable, ditch the big amp and us a smaller amp under the fairing. Let us Know if you make it happen. I might want to do the same thing. Enjoy, Rick

Hi everyone I recently purchased a 2012 CVO Ultra electric orange and I love it, this is actually my second time around on this site as I have been a long time cvo road glide rider and a member on roadglide.org under the member name of metime. For some reason I always seemed to gravitate to the look of the ultra and I have been through a few bikes and fell I finally found the one

after a few hundred miles I became used to the different feel of the front fairing and it has kinda grown on me plus its my favorite color orange. Everyone on this site seems very knowledgable and very helpful, my newest project I need to get completed is the detachable tour pak I have asked the dealer for a price and it is very expensive and since I'm not so handy I don't want to risk messing anything up so hopefully I can find a member close by me here in Southern Florida that can give me a hand

Well I just wanted to introduce myself and look forward to reading all these great threads.
