I recently purchased the Harley davidson led headlamp and passing lamps I also installed the part to keep the passing lamps on when the brights are on and it works fine but here is the issue, the other night I was riding home and it was real dark I switched the high beam on and no projection the light path seemed the same as the low beam so I shut the passing lamps off turned on the brights again and same light path even though the headlamp switched from the low beam to the high beam? I asked the dealer they have no idea they said I need to bring it in, anybody know what the problem is?

Are you saying that your high beam doesn't come on when you switch to high?  With or without the passing lamps on?  spyder

No the high beam comes on but there is no lighting difference either with the passing lamps on or off, high is the same as low and I checked that they are switching and on.

The high beam comes on but doesn't make any difference in light projection over the low beam?  :confused5: spyder

There isn't exactly a HUGE difference, like what you are used to with a car's headlamps, but you should easily be able to see A difference.  Have you tried just projecting against a wall or your garage door to see if you can see a change in the pattern when you hit the switch?

Yes I faced it against the wall in my garage and there is a slight difference but nothing major.

You should see a great difference in the daytime between the 'looks' of the headlight in the low & high beams.  And at night the passing lamps (side spots) will add a lot of light and make the difference between the high & low beams appear less.  That's the way mine appear anyway.  You should see a great difference between the high & low beam without the passing lamps on at night.  To me, adding the passing lamps to be on with the high beam was more important for 'being seen' during daylight riding than lighting up the night.  spyder

Amen brother.  I have the Kury (Truck Lights) LEDs in my headlight and spots.  While I think the H-D version is better looking, the Kury ones are much more visable in the daylight and that is my biggest concern since I really do not like riding at night.  I don't care how good your lights are or how good your eyesight is you will most likely overdrive your lights when traveling at highway speed on a dark road.

I have the HID's that we got in a group buy from Xenonlink. I notice that it takes a few minutes for the ballast to warm up during which time there is no difference between high and low beams. This warmup time is only about 30 seconds to a minute after which time you KNOW the high beams are working, day or night.

Well the dealer looked at them and said that is how they are, there isn't a large difference between the standard lighting and brights. They checked to make sure they are correctly adjusted and level, while they found one of the spot lights was way off. I haven't had a chance to drive it at night since they adjusted the light so I will let you know once I do. I should have went with the Kuryakn one half the price and it seems to be a really good light from what I have heard and half the price, dealer just made it sound like these were so much better.
