Today i'm home alone and was going to see how many of you lift the fuel tank to clean the valve covers, seems like an easy thing to do right, I have removed the tank on my old Ultra, about a 10 minute job being I already have the seat off, and as I'm doing my inspection of everything prior to getting the bike wet I notice that there in the rear tire on the outer edge of the tread is a nail. A couple weeks ago I had the front tire replaced do to it wouldn't hold air, the dealer did it under warranty, I put some soap on the nail and wiggled it around, but didn't see any air bubbles, called the dealer to let them know and the soonest I could get in is the 26th. Well after hearing that I decided to pull the nail out, it goes in at a angle almost as if just below the surface, I pulled it out and it's a 1 inch shingle nail. I than put on some soapy water mix from the wash bucket, and watched it with a flashlight, didn't see any bubbles and I'll put the pressure at 40 to recheck in a few days.
My question is being that I bought the tire and wheel warranty, should I try to get the dealer to replace the tire, or just wait and see if it leaks down, so far I think I got lucky that it went in the way it did.
