I noticed price changes years ago when I had a 1997 Fatboy EVO when the new twin cams first arrived. Even though the EVO was "old technology" it held it's value because of the new motor having some teething pains and people didn't trust it. After about a year or two when the problems were lessened and people decided they wanted the new motor the price of my Fatboy dropped like a rock. Market was different back then with waiting list etc. to get bikes in my area.
Not sure though what today's market and supply and demand will bring......
Good luck with recovery and purchase.

I have a price of $30,500 out the door on a new 16 CVO Street Glide and haven't bought, I'm going to offer $28k sometime next week.  I think it's a steal at $30,500.

If I decide to get the 2016 Limited what exhaust and tuner is recommended. On the crah bike I had Fullsac.

If you were happy with it, I'd go back to it. I had a D&D on my '11 and went Fullsac on my '15. I'm much happier with the sound levels on the '15.

Unless you want to open that motor up, it doesn't appear you can do much better than Fullsac exhaust and a good TTS tune. I'm very happy with the results.

What did you decide?  I think I'd go for the new one if I was in your situation and there was a color combo I liked.

Looking at a 2916 CVO Limited. MSRP is $39,900. On the tag is also $499 for shipping to be added to the MSRP. Dealer also want $500 for setup. I have purchased 7 HD bikes and never recall paying for setup. The dealer will sell the bike for $36,500 but also wants the $1000 for shipping and setup. Any thoughts?

I was on a trip near ASheville, NC and '11 SERGU crapped a lifter. I had been hearing the noise for a while and rode 600 miles before she quit, so I opted to trade her in while I still had some value as she had 40K on her.

I bought a '16 SERGU and sticker was $41,500. I got her for $36,800 because I knew the '17 were rolling out in September.  I am happy with my purchase. We can all wait years for new things to be added to HD, but then we would never buy a new bike.

AS it is with cars....Does not really matter price of vehicle if you are trading in something The bottom line is you have to know what the new bike is worth to you and what the new bike is worth. All the other number are fluff and negotiating tactics.

Could I have had my '11 repaired? Sure still had extended warranty, but I weighed that against a bike with 40K on it and what else will go wrong and then I fast forwarded two years and added 20K miles and realized that was the time to get at least something for the '11. I was also 700 miles from home on day 1 of a weeks riding vacation, so that weighed on my decision too.

This was in July, the wife is now finally speaking to me!

I looked at a 2016 CVO limited today, looking to trade my 2008 105th Anniversary Ultra Classic. They want $36,000 out the door plus my bike! I politely said thank you for your time and left.  I figured the math something like this

 40000 sticker
- 7700 trade
= 32800
+ tax 2300
setup 980
shipping 445

that comes to roughly $36000. This dealer did not have the bike I wanted but said he could find one at another dealer.
Perhaps if I were to go to a dealer that has the exact bike (2016 CVO limited in black & red) I just might be able to get a better deal. I did not think this was a bargain in anyway shape or form.

I had a similar experience with my 07 CVO Dyna.  In June was going to trade it on a CVO SG.  They wanted $35k and my bike.  I sold my bike for $11500, still sitting in the cash waiting on the right deal on a SG.

I think there's a dealer in little rock, Arkansas that has 2 of those 16 CVO Limiteds in red/black still.  Listed in chopperexchange.

So when you guys call these dealers do you just say hey! I am interested in the 2016 CVO limited in black and red, what is your bottom dollar price out the door?

I sent an email to a dealer in Maryland last night about a used one they have but so far no response
