Got a new products catalogue from Corbin today. They're offering a seat specifically made for the SEUC.

TC (whenever you see this), is that the seat that you got?  If so that looks very nice.  Do all the lines and contours of it line up with the stock backrest as well in reality as they in the advertising image?

2L,

Not Terry here, but this is the seat I got for mine. Unless they changed from '06, Terry too. Here are some shots on my bike, page 11.

When  I was in FL, I sat on Jeorge's Corbin. It seemed awlfuly firm. I can't see how this would be more comfortable than a stock one with more cushioning? AJ

I can't either.  I was more the Comfort Stitch kind of guy.

But just before our cross country trip last year, I ended up trying a Corbin thanks to a good friend and a member of this site.  I bought the seat (that Corbin actually borrowed my bike for two weeks to make the seat pan for) and rode cross country.  I was two thirds the way back across (Utah) before I realized that my butt had just not become an issue on that ride.  Now, that Corbin has been on my bike for nine months and all the other seats hang on my garage wall.  Don't ask me, I just know it works..........kind of like the BMW or Mercedes seats.

AJ, as JC just described above the Corbins seem to often leave that "man, this is firm" first impression.  For whatever reason, however, they do seem to just work.  The one on this bike is my Corbin seat.  Many many miles.  The same bike that would hound you after two tank fulls suddenly becomes an easy 800 mile day after day machine.  1k days don't kill you.  Hard or firm or whatever you choose to call them; they just work.

I too thought softer was better, but there is a really big difference in softness and support.

On a soft saddle, I felt like I sunk in until one of my parts got close to something firm, causing a pressure point. On the firmer saddle, the seat compresses where it needs to, and not as much in other areas. There is a definite break-in period for them. I know the first day I rode mine, I was a bit uncomfortable when we were nearing the end of the 250 or so miles we rode.

It's one of those things you have to try it, to believe it. It took me awhile, but I'm glad I moved away from the Mustang.

I have a Corbin and a HD Sundowner in addition to the stock seat , the Corbin was as hard as a rock , but improves with age. I've got about 10,000 miles on it and it is the only seat I can ride all day for many days in a row and not feel it .  The cushy ones are nice for < 200 miles , but hey that's just a warmup ride

Firm is better.  Think about cowboys/girls.... old days and now... ever seen a "soft" horse saddle?  All of them are hard and some of those folks ride all day long working.  (although I bet quite a few use 4-wheelers now to expedite things)

Love my Corbin!

Corbin has had this seat out since October of last year!!  Saw one on their 07 SEUC at biketober fest.  Tried to buy one on the spot but said they had sold out, called the store on main street & they to had sold all available.  Ordered one & got it a couple months later - have not gotten it on the bike yet.

Also had the dual touring seat on my 04 seeg.  It is a great seat especially if you have long saddle times.  Was leary of the firm aspect of their seats but it was very comfortable.  Much better than stock seat for sure!

Corbin- You either Like them or Hate them - They Panted the phrase "Ride it for a few 100 miles and that will break it in" When you return a say the seat is too hard they say you haven't ridden it enough go ride some more an then let us know. By that time you are worn down and put the seat on e-bay and move on :)

Like all Corbin Seats they look Nice.
