Installed the package late last week. Fired right up, no back fires and excellent throttle response. A bit too much vibration for my liking though. I will post dyno as soon as I have time to get it done.

I did have a problem with the front header heat shield (no problem with the pipe itself). There is little room to make any ajustments to it. The issue (at least for mine) is that there should be a notch on the HS by the header bolt (the one towards the side the pipe is on) as it partially covers the bolt and does not allow it to go up far enough. At first, even with the spacers, the end of the HS touched the floorboard bracket (yes it's scratched now) [smiley=furious.gif]. I had to bend the HS towards the pipe, very little clearance around the floorboard and the brake pedal. I in fact have a couple of kinks

then the bad and ugly in one swoop.
hard to see in the pic but I had to push in where the circle is and that created a kink at the top arrow and then there is an inward kink at the bottom arrow

Come on HD2003! Are your feelings still hurt because I wouldn't tell you where my bike is coming from? I really just want to know how the Freedom pipes can be that much better? [smiley=laugh.gif] [smiley=confused5.gif]

OSMACAT

That's a funny one!
I guess you didn't read my post about why I wanted to know where your bike is coming  from.

But I will do it again since you missed it.
I went to the four local dealers and gave them the business card for this site. If you bought your bike from one of these dealers then you would have been my test case to see if they actually handed the site cards out.

I think you are missing the whole point about the Freedom package. And that is exactly my point. It is a package consisting of the following;

The Freedom pipes, designed and built for the 103 CVO motor.
The Power Commander, tuned to work with the S/E intake and the Freedom pipes.
The S/E air intake.

You have clearly researched this issue. Tell me ANYONE that sells a package where
the pipes, ECM and intake have been tested and tuned for a specific bike. No one I know of offers this service.

Buy the rineharts, buy the Freedoms, buy the Pro Pipe, buy any pipe and then try to find someone in this area that has a track record of tuning the intake, pipes and ECM you have chosen. Maybe that will bring the same results as the Freedom package, maybe not. At $60 bucks or more an hour dyno time is not cheap.

I went for the KISS method (keep it simple stupid). Freedom has done the research and have many satisfied customers. I am one of them! You pick the combination you want, pay the money and I wish you the best with the results.

HD2003
Just yanking your chain. I appreciate your feedback on how pleased you are with the Freedom setup. I will let you know what I decide on. Maybe we can take a ride sometime as you mentioned earlier. No not a race!

Good deal OSMACAT

I have tried to find some other company that offers the complete set-up Freedom does.
I keep coming up empty handed! My only reservation about Freedom was the distance.
Some 2500 miles away is a lot for that personal service that I like. All I can say is that Mark and Brad have delivered everything they promised. And if you consider the distance, that says it all to me!

Good luck with your quest!

UFO,

When I first installed my freedom kit a few weeks ago, I noticed the same flare out at the bottom of the forward heat shield.  Mine wasn't touching, just didn't liake the look of the flare.  I removed the springs and found that the shield would rotate counter clockwise a bit and that took the flare out.  Reinstalled the springs and re-aligned the rear heat shield a bit and they both look fine now.

Your best bet is to call Freedom and talk to Mark or Brad or Rick.
