No way for me to be as kewl as twolane.  :coolblue:  We are thinking about doing some very minor modifications to Jamey's bike before headin out to Nelson.  We will see how he likes it before even considering doing anything to mine.

Re diamond cutting or powder coating?  Can't even imagine when the pocket book could accomdate that.  It does indeed look good, but way out of the WeCVO's budget.

Chief,

I don't think you can really consider Howies numbers in this data pool as of yet as the tuning he had done was well better than it was, but definately not finished yet.    You have spent hours and hours on your's to get the a/f's and tuning dead on.   I know once Howie is home he will get it back on the dyno.   It would be interesting to repeat this test when the tuner is done with his power commander to see a side by side comparison of yours and his both with PC and SE A/C and pipe of choice.   From looking at his dyno sheet he is still too lean in a few areas and would definitely show up as a skewing effect on the this data.

I agree. Howie is a Work in Process, in more ways than one. We pulled his map and it doesn't look like a whole lot of time was put into doing it. Both cylinders were tuned together and it looked pretty rough. He plans on going back for a full tune when he gets home.

We took the opportunity of riding side-by-side and shooting both, with the same gun, in the same spot to get the best comparison possible.

Hot Springs will be the next good opportunity to get some good comparisons that can include other model years at the same time.

So chief in a side by side comparison I can't believe it was just for the sake of heat testing.   How did the ultra compare to the roadking?   Did you happen to try and load your map into his bike to see how it ran since it was rineharts vs. vh with SPO's?

I was hoping we could do that on Tuesday when he finished up at Traxxion. He didn't get out of there until around 6 and then it was off to dinner. We just didn't have enough time to play with it.

And don't forget the diamond cutting  ::) .  The powder coating was (pretty much) a one for one swap with the old silver blasted off and the new red laid on.  But that diamond cutting is only done for one purpose; it's the massive cooling effect  ::) .

Hey 2Lane - how does the diamond cut heads reduce heat, I only ever saw one bike with that done and he only had 11 miles on it, it must of cost the guy a bomb.

Diamond cut heads reduce heat by eliminating excess cash from the riders wallet and lightening the load on the bike....    :huepfenlol2:

On Thusday at Myrtle Beach, waiting to get into the HD on 17 South, my SERK read 288 degrees on the dipstick.  The two other bikes, 2000 deuce, 2000 custom never went over 230.  My SERK has a DFO Techclusion, bike is running great and the plugs have the tan look.  In my opinion, this is way too hot.  It was about 85 degrees outside.

Anyone seeing that kind of temp?

258 is the highest I've seen, but that was riding and stopping for every light. I can't imagine what will happen if I ever really get stuck in a jam. Maybe its time to start practicing lane splitting.

I too was in the mile long line at Myrtle Beach to get to the Harley Dealer and the Springer got to the magic 250 mark on the dipstick. I pulled into the other vender site and walked around for a while. It hit 250 a few more times and I would just decide to stop for a beer when it got there. Yes - I had quite a few beers this past few days.
Too much traffic at this rally.

Hey Beerman, you just summed up the biggest problem w/ MB....maybe it has something to do w/ the layout.  The new bypasses have helped, but like all big rallys, the clogged up traffic when it's hot can take the fun out of it.  Parades are ok if you got a parade fan on your motor.  ;) Har!  :huepfenlol2: spyder

CVO GTG's are a hell of a lot more fun anyway, Spyd  :drink: :drink:

Who needs vendor sites when everybody on here keeps you up to date on the latest/greatest gizmo's and bling on the market?

There were only a few places where it was bad.  Laconia and Daytona were worse.

By the way, gas mileage was at 30, normally 40.
