As I sit here and comtemplate spending more frickin' money,  :drink:  I have a question- do the hard bags fit with the stock bottom mounting bar, or do I have to buy a different one, possibly from the RK Std?  Thanks in advance..

Just got my bags back from the painter-they came out excellent.  I could not have ask for a better match for the paint.  They went on easy with just a few adjustment and they went on easy.  I am going to put some better pics of the bags to follow.

Alot of you new SERK owners are going with the hard bags. I think they all look great and probably should have never came with the leather bags. The hard bags after the custom paint look like they belong there. Nice job fellas. Later,Q

You just need to adjust the top mounts.  Loosen them up, stick the bags on, set the pins, then tighten them up.
Good luck.   ;)

WOW! Very preeeeeeeeetty indeed! Who did the paint? Paint by Gene has mine (Razor Red) - I hope they turn out as well as yours did. Man, I just can't believe what a difference the hard bags make on the SERK - it's too damn bad that the MoCo didn't offer them as an option - saving us all of this work - but then they would've probably cost twice as much as a factory option!!!!
Anyway - GREAT looking bags!

The hard bags look great. Does anybody have a part number for the bags? (I realize they have to be painted)

What is the approximate cost to do this modification?

I believe most people are buying used bags (ebay or from a dealer) and then having them painted.  I am figuring on $1,200 to $1,500 to buy the bags and pay for the paint.

$200 for used Hard Bags, $400 for all new Hardware and locks for them, $700 for the painting, and $100 shipping costs. That's what it cost me. You can't guess much closer to that Travis! But if you buy new bags, probably over 2 grand total! ;)
