My dealer called yesterday saying he'd gotten a chrome regulator in and could now take care of my recall. I took the CUSE by this morning and 45 minutes later was on my way. Problem is I spent another $400 while waiting in the showroom but that's my problem. It's all about accessorizing! Anyway, my recall is taken care of and I rode all day. Life is good!

Congrats on the new regulator Bob!  Don't spread the word about spending the $400.  If the MOCO finds out, they'll start sending out recall letters front fork reflectors, valve stem caps, etc. just to get customers into the dealerships.

Finally picked up a pair of headbolt bridge covers, chrome fork drain bolts, chrome front axle nuts and some misc. Hot Toppers for the engine. Most important, I bought my enabler (wife) a new H-D jacket so my account is now authorized.   :bananarock:

Bob, you gave me some encouragement on the voltage regulator, so I checked with my dealer today.  They've got four bikes waiting on the chrome units, but nothing yet from the MOCO.

I just lost my stator and voltage regulator riding the hill country two weeks ago. Voltage started spiking, radio shut down, and instrument lights went out whenever I went over 2K RPM's.. Back to semi normal voltage at 1K - 2K RPM's..

My bike was built before the recall and I never got the notice. Sure did keep me guessing till I got home with it..

Well as you can see, mine is a "Melon" so I'm guessing it was made in the Middle of the year and I picked it up the end of October. I guess time will tell.. Sure did put a damper on my trip..

Finnially got around to going to the dealership and having them check my numbers...I have a new one coming now. They said they have a ton of them that they ordered., just not a chrome one for my bike.
