OKAY guy's,   some of you talked me into the Freedom Cams (FY or FB) 14 setup for my cherrybomb.  I just got the call from the shop and  my bike is making a whopping 78hp and 102 lb/ft.   I have a Doherty  PP,  Hooker True duals and PCIII USB.  I have to believe that the bike made more than that before I took it in for the cams.  Anyone  have any idea what the hell is going on?

Beag's, They have something WRONG! A gear off a tooth? Tune? Could the motor be wet sumped? o-ring from oil pump to case got pinched? A sumped motor woul cause low numbers. Something is up with the install.


I have done several of these and not had numbers below 103 HP and 110 tq. They have been as high as 108 & 119....

I just spoke to the pro's......they gave me the ammo to get this thing right.  Harry and Jim,  thanks for the input.  You may get phone calls tomorrow,  but I still have to believe that the bike made better numbers than that before I took it in.....Thanks for the input.....I'll let you know what happens from here (BTW, if I get too much BS,  I'll call your cell and let you straighten this gut out).  At this point,  he wants to sell me a new set of pipes (and we all know,  that from one to the next......maybe 3-4 difference, not the kind of numbers I'm seeing here).  Once again,  Harry and Jim.....thanks for the input.

Who did the install? You must have something wrong. I just installed the YB14SEC with Freedom True duals and a PCIII with a canned map from Freedom and it runs like a raped ape. I can't wait to get it on a dyno and get a custom map for my engine. I guarantee it makes a ton more horse power than it did before Freedom Cams. Before the Freedom package my bike had a Screamin eagle air filter with V & H slip ons with a stage one down load. It dynoed at 80 hp with 90 ft lbs of torque. I bet it is over 100 hp now.

Sorry the install didn't go smoothly.  It's not likely to be a measurement problem but that'd certainly be a heluva lot easier problem to fix than a bike problem.  You know your pipes aren't going to make 20% difference plus or minus.  So I'd sure as hell be unwilling to go buying more expensive parts until I knew what else was going on.  Good luck getting it sorted out.  Will be waiting patiently but anxiously wondering what it took to get it straightened out.

3-4 hp/tq down due to exhaust maybe, but not 20.......Hopefully they'll get it resolved and running as it should. Be sure to let us know what it was and you  have the number if you'd need to call.

     I may go down there this morning to see what's up.  This guy is pretty easy to deal with,  and his No.1 wrench just went down the road.  I have to believe ((after talking to Harry and Jim) that there is something freaked n the install.  I'll start from there.  BTW,  does anyone have a decent base map that I can give this guy to get started (I think he's gonna spend the whole day tunning) where as a map that's close may prove sooner that there is something wrong in the motor.   Thanks again..

Matt....glad to hear you're doing better!!!!  Something is badly screwed up on the installation of those cams...hope you get to the bottom of it today.  Be sure and let us know what you find out.

Beags...did you look in the Maps section here?  I don't remember if you're running a SERT or a PCIII, but there are maps in there that should get it really close.  A map for a 103 with the Zippers 575 and true duals would get you pretty close, as the cams are similar enough.

Twolane has one there for his 05 103, TD, 575 cams, and SE A/C...it's for a SERT.  That should be really close if you have a SERT.  Jim could probably give you one for a PCIII, or one of the guys he's done the Freedom cams for.

WET SUMP!!!!!!!

Just as HD said. I will bet a paycheck on it. It does happen even with a very good and experience wrench.

I have seen it and I HAVE DONE IT.

The bad part about it, they may have used the old O ring!

Do not buy new pipes YET!!!! You will not see a change if it is wet sumping.
