Hey Doc I need some help.
I am assuming your tourpak is detachable. What part number did you use for the mounting bracket that attaches to the tourpak? I ordered the chopped tourpak and a "detachable tour pak bracket" part # 53107-96. This is not the right one.
thanks

Uh-Oh! I ordered the same bracket for mine. What seems to be wrong with that tour pak rack? Did you get the docking hardware kits too? It appears to be right by looking in the catalog .............

Kind of hard to explain, but.
I am hoping I can use the same docking parts that come on the bike for the stock backrest. The bracket I ordered does not mount to the existing docks. The distance between the forward and rear dock on the bike is much further apart and the bracket is not adjustable.

Were you told that you had to change the docking posts on the bike as well?

thanks

Hey Kingsalmon...you need additional docking hardware to fit the bracket.  Look in the Mo-Co book and you will see what you need.  It's a cheap fix, and it will work.

Yes sir. Unfortunately yes. The parts guy told me right down to the last nut and bolt (literally) what I'd have to get. Stupid me didn't write anything down either. Basicaly tho it's the docking kits, both front and rear. The tour pak rack and backrest. For the king tour pak you have to add the lock and assorted hardware.

I'm not aware of any tour pak mount that will work with the detachable backrest docking station. Sorry ...  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Wow this is like a promotion, out of the Newbie status.

Are you guys doing the mounting yourselves or having HD do it?

I'm pretty lazy but as you know, HD gets too much of my $$$$

You do not need front docking hardware.....it's the same as your front docking hardware for the passenger backrest.
