I used Plexus, same stuff. I use it all the time on my windshield, goggles, etc.
It ruined the screen on my Garmin 478. It looks like there is a protective coating on the screen, and I ruined it. The screen is not readable in certain angles now. this was not a problem on my older Garmin 276.

I had the EXACT same problem on my 478. I sent it back to Garmin under warranty for replacement on Friday. I'll let you know what I hear back. This afternoon I looked at the Zumo fourm and there have been others there that have had the same problem.

Maybe I missed it so I will ask again.  Did anyone successfully put their POI's on their SD card and does the Garmin pull them off as easily as if it were on the actual GPS?  If so, is there a special folder that should be created on the SD card.

I've always loaded my POI's (H-D Dealers) directly to the Zumo. From what I understand when you use the POI Loader it converts them into a very small file. What/How many POI's are you trying to load, and why don't you want to load them directly to the Zumo?

I loaded the entire US HD dealers. Loaded perfect with no problems.  But I was concerned if I wanted to load more POI's then it may be best to load them to the SD card.  Just curious if anyone has done it.

See attached pdf document which explains how I load my POI's.  Rich

I've got only about 5 - 6 states of H-D loaded in mine and it's only using 26KB. To see how big of file of POI's you're using now hook up your Zumo and open explorer. You'll want to look for the "Garmin" folder on the main drive of the Zumo, then "POI" folder, and in there should be a file called poi.gpi and that should be the POI's you have loaded. I'm curious to see how big a file it would be w/all the dealers loaded.

In the big scheme of things those are relatively small file sizes and really shouldn't be a concern if you're worried about having to much stuff on the main HD of your Zumo.

Thanks Gray, you're the man! Hey, when is the Zumo fourm going to get a thread for the 478? It's funny how this fourm can discuss anything from Garmin GPS's to Ford trucks! You gotta love this site!  :orange: :huepfenjump3: :orange:

I listed in the first post in this thread a place to get the H-D dealers POI, but they also have a lot of other POI's on that website. If you are interested in loading POI's in your GPS check out this site - Index of POI's @ GPSPassion.

Weird.  Found a POI list titled "Big guys in Orange Thongs" and the darn thing only had one entry.  A hotel in Maggie Valley, NC  :nixweiss: .
