Plan to carry a set of 110 cylinders from Ken's bike to use as a step.
Why?
You getting a centerstand?
I'll ask Ken if it's ok for you to borrow his cylinders?
He's very agreeable, most of the time!
Remember, it's not the length of the leg that matters, it's the quality of the inseam!

Hey I'll have the cylinders out of a Cummins diesel engine too. Those should get you farther away from the ground than the 110 cylinders. I'll have about $2,000 apiece invested in them. I'll let you have them for shipping costs.

Ken

At 4.50 a gallon for diesel the shipping would be to much.
I'll stick to the 110 cylinders.
Just have to be careful stepping up on them in case the liners are slipping.
How embarrassing would it be to hurt myself on 110 liners that are not on my bike.
Tommy would not stop laughing!

Those would be too high for Chip to step up on!  Then again he could use the 110 and the Cummings.  Step up on the 110 first then onto the Cummings then jump up on the bike!

The only problem with all this is Nancy would have to throw both cylinders in the tour pack once he got on!

:2vrolijk_21:  I just checked with Zanotti motors, https://www.zanottimotor.com/shopping/pLookUp.php, and they have the center stand for $276.00.  Not sure what the MSRP is for this item, but they have been under most of the discount houses I have shopped for other items.  Just thought y'all would like another 2 cents and perhaps a new source for parts.

That's a good price. I get 20 off at my dealer and pay tax. With Zanotti I would have to pay shipping.
And the centerstand is no lightweight.

Center stand installed.  Chip costing me money again.  Really makes for a neat setup in the garage and minimizes space.  Looks to be well made and the installation is pretty simple.  Just make sure that the stand is complete with a left and a right adjustable feet when you take it home! (Mine had two left feet in place on the stand when I installed it and I just couldn't seem to get it adjusted - go figure!)  Anyway, the correct feet came in today and I got everything adjusted.  There were no clearance issues with the Rinehart 2-1 exhaust on the bike.  It only extends slightly below the rear frame and appears to have no effect on lean angle clearance either.  I am somewhat concerned with parking lot speed bumps, but hopefully it's just in my head.

Here's a picture of the bike up on the stand.

Another shot from the left side.

At $329.00 retail and having to buy three I thought I would inflict pain on someone else.
Way to go Craig!
I think everyone should have one.
And the bikes sure do profile good sitting up straight.

MSRP for the stand is $329.95

Zanotti is often the lowest priced of the discount dealers, but before assuming they are the lowest check the total price including shipping.  I noticed that they really jacked up some of their shipping charges last year, so what looks like a great price initially is sometimes not so great.

Jerry

BTW - a true 20% discount would bring the price in at $263.96, plus shipping of course.

Have run in to that also.  Twice have called them before completing an order that seemed to have extreme shipping charges to question the accuracy of the freight cost.  Both times they quickly adjusted the fee to something more in line with reality.

Actually, I think Don should buy one Harley stand and one Rivco stand so he can do an impartial "road test" and report back to the site.  You know, detail the installation of each one and then discuss any differences in the ease of operation, ground clearance, chrome quality, etc.

All kidding aside Chip and I were talking about these things a month or so ago.  I was pleading some general ignorance on the topic because I'd simply never used one.

Apparently some do and some don't lift the rear wheel off the ground.  If you couldn't even get a wheel off to at least help with cleaning a little I didn't understand any realistic or practical benefit.  Suppose as a "show stand."  But I don't do that kind of thing.

Hadn't thought of cases like Chip explained where a full garage needs all the room it can get sometimes.  With room to spare on the floor and a jack to get their feet off the ground they're still a solution to a problem I don't have.

Unlike Dood not having chrome tour pak hinges.
