I have noticed that after a 100mph the harley speedo does read faster
than on the garmin 2730. Harley said 115 and Garmin said 110-111...

And that was trying to catch up to Hoist!

Going fast is never a problem.  It is the occasional (usually just 1) sudden stop that I am afraid of.

With all this top speed talk, maybe consider the max rating for the tires as well?  :nixweiss:  I believe that the max rating is 130mph, at least on the OEM tires. Not much use in seeing when they disentigrate at what RPM huh?
Bummer. I've seen the speedo needle down past the left side of the numbers a couple of times at least. I'd just as soon not remember. Nowadays, we're talking major fines and impoundment if the boys in blue are out and active.

I dunno.  I stop looking at the odometer at 115 cause things are whizzing by me too fast, but she still has plenty left......and I'm basically stock.

Hey, I didn't intend to put our members at risk when I started this thread !  You would think this info would be published in a cycle mag "on a closed course, by a professional". At least "limited to MPH by factory" in our owners manual.  Now I know why they keep us around, the one percenters will find out (one percent of production bikes).

Nah!  Heck, we take risks just getting out of bed in the morning.  I figure I can grow old sitting in my home looking at my teeth in a jar, or I can get out on the open road and run my scoot til I can't stand it.  I prefer the later............besides, I still have my real teeth.  :2vrolijk_21: ;) 8)

I don't claim copyright on the teeth in the jar comment.  Actually this past weekend at the Two Wheel Inn in Robbinsville, NC near Deal's Gap, I stole it from a guy just a few years older than me who was riding a GSXR1000.  We got into the age discussion.  He asked why I, being what he believed to be a much younger man, was riding what he termed a "geezer glide."  My retort was what was such an old fart doing riding a young man's crotch rocket.  He came back with the teeth comment.  Then I challenged him to ride with me for my planned 500 miles that day.  Can you guess his reply?  "NO WAY MAN!  I'd be stove up for a month."  I rest my case.

Been there too, just set the cruise at 90 and let em watch you playing with the radio or clipping your nails and they get all bent out of shape. How do you get so many posts being a member since 5/31/07 ?

Long story Grandpadoc.  I was a member 2 months ago, but left to handle some challenges with my family.  I know most of these guys.  I just posted my butt off.  Had a bunch of catching up to do after 2 months.  Read reply #200 here http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=9871.msg220157#new and that should explain a few things.  Have a great evening.
