Here's a response copied from another site that I visit. The subject is "What would you ask Willie G?" (I thought that this response is so realistic and true)
I actually met Willie G. in Daytona around 96 or 97, Very down to earth, likeable guy. I don't remember if I asked him anything, we just talked about bikes, bikeweek - typical stuff, for a few minutes. You got to admit, from our perspective, he has the best job in the world. I guess his only problem is you can't please everybody all the time. Damn, what is the matter with him? He is a Davidson, grandson of the founder, that shouldn't be a problem for him at all!!! Oh, I forgot. Let see...........
There is Uncle Sam and the EPA boys constantly looking over you shoulder, gotta take care of them or else. Oh yea, and the Stockholders......mmmmmm, I guess they want the company to be profitable. Gee, you mean they can't make one off custom bikes for 30% less that what they charge for a production model. And the Customers..... don't we pride ourselves in individuality? Heaven forbid my bike looks like anyone elses. They should make it for me just the way I want it, even though how I want it may change from time to time. You know, for all the pissin and moanin about the Moco on this forum and others, I don't see a whole lot of us abandoning our beloved Harleys and flocking to another brand. I, personally, have no desire to ride anything else. Are the prices higher than I would like? Oh yea. But there are always ways to get it cheaper. You just have to know where to look. You know, If I saw Willie G. today and could ask him a question, I think I would ask him "wanna go ride?"
