I have been waiting on the Touring model & am a little disappointed, as others have remarked.

Not keen on the colour schemes.  Would have liked a better motor.

Now, I have to decide whether to get one or try & get a Orange '04, which is by far my favoutite paint scheme.

Just finished looking at the new Ultra and I am in agreement that it is disappointing.  What happened to the 120 motor and 6 speed?  I dont even think they did a great job with the graphics or paint and what is with that trunk it looks like an after thought or third party after market accessory.

Very disappointing!!

As far as the paint graphics it looks like they through together the paint schemes from the gold/blk RK and the SEEGs.  Not much thought put into it !!!

All you guys with '04 and '05 SEEG count your selves lucky because this new bike does not even come close to how nice yours are.

Thanks.  I do every day, and after this news, more so today than others.  SERGs aren't too shabby, either, ya know?!?! [smiley=beerchug.gif]

05 yellow seeg  vs 06 Ultra CVO  I think the seeg is the best bike they have made to date. If I want a tourpack I stick one on otherwise it ain't there. I added a cb,intercom, interface for headset to radio, cell phone, and whatever else I want. I just have to live with the j&m unit sitting on the handlebars. I have only one antenna (firestick quick disconnect) I only move one wire to put antenna on bike without tourpack.

To me these harley designers were not too serious about the work on touring bikes this year. Or maybe they are trying to use up the "old" 5 speeds What's up with this flhx? no spotlights no this no that. The dyna's look good but touring models need more. And to me that would mean something other than the padded dash or whatever that thing is they got glued on the inner fairing.
Have to believe thes bikes look better in person.

I kind of like the loks of the dark crimson and charcoal bike. I'll have to reserve comment on the green one till I see it in person. I talked to one of the guys at the dealership who's at the show and he said that he hadn't seen the green color. I've got him looking around for it to see if it's really olive green. I'll let you all know after he reports back.

I believe that in order for a motor to be grandfathered in under the EPA, it had to be introduced in the stock line-up by 2004.  I don't think you will see it now.
As far as the value of our SEEG's, by the time they add all the extras on the new Ultra, it will be approaching 40k.  Our bikes will probably hold thier value better because of a lower starting price.  I also think anyone selling in the next year will be offering a better color scheme than the 06's offer.
As far as seat height difference, it looks as though they kept some kind of touring seat on the Ultra, which will make it a more comfortable long ride, vs the brick they put on the SEEG in 04/05.
