Mr Charlie at stone MT. still rides a dresser at 72.

I remember his name was 'Gus' and he rode his knucklehead to Sturgis accompanied by his son who was was in his 60's at the time....some said he was in his 90's then....I can't remember how old he told me he was, but I watched him kick-start the ole Knuckle and ride away to his home on the Outer Banks of NC.  He's passed on now, but he was a Legend in his own time and now to me.    har!  spyder

There's three old gents that hang out together here in San Diego. I call em the Sunshine Boys. The oldest is 86 and rides an 06 Street Glide.  The youngest is 78 and rides an 07 Road Glide. The middle one is 82 and rides a Road King. Their bikes are quite similar as the 78 yr old was a pinstriper and he has done all three bikes to match. He offered to stripe LD for free, but said his hands were not steady enough to draw the points of the flames I wanted. Whenever I can, I all but beg them to talk about their early days of riding as all three have been riding since the 1940's. They are my motorcycle hero's, especially the oldest as he is one of the nicest people I've ever met. God Bless em all.

I love talking to well seasoned people.  One can learn so much from them............and their stories are so enlightening.  I think it is awesome that these three gents have kept themselves going, so they can really enjoy their twilight years doing what they love most.  I hope my body holds up like that.

It actually (surprisingly) wasn't even even thing weird or stupid.  Just an afternoon in summer sun.  All afternoon in mom's back acreage bringing down several large old trees and lots of smaller stuff and then clearing out the mess a bit.  Good dishonest labor.  But at the end of the day I did not smell pretty.
