I too would like to know. Lil-Bit sure misses those from the '99 we had, first thing she noticed when we picked up the bike.

You can buy them out of the HD catalog.  The part # is 91583-99 $128.40.  They stopped putting them on because so many people were complaining about them and replaced it with the strap. :nixweiss:

I have been told these will not fit the cuse because speaker boxes on our bikes are different from stock ultras.  Haven't investigated personally but you can definitely see the difference at the bottom of the speaker box.  If they will fit I'd like to know 'cause HQ would like them also.

I had a set of grab bars hanging on the wall, originally from a 2001 Ultra Classic.  I installed them on my 07 SEUC and they fit fine.  There is about a 1/2" clearance between the grab bars and the rear passenger speakers...  I think the more recent grab bars may be configured differenly then the older design.

Cant find the picture of a 2006 FLHTCUSE Black & Slate  on ebay that had them on it with the covers LOOK GOOD and I too am thinking about putting them on mine.  I to was told that they would not fit and I was also told that they SHOULD fit.  :nixweiss: I'm confused... :confused5: :confused5:

If I run across this picture I'll post it.

That's the same reason for the post...

Dealer tells me that new ones won't fit beacuse of the speaker boxes....

Getting tired of Wifey grabbing hold of my gitch when we stop quickly!

If I order the new ones from the catalog will they fit, or will I have to track down a older used set somewhere?

I believe both TCinVa and RedDevil have put the new version on their FLHTCUSE2's. You might want to shoot either of them a PM, or if they see this thread I'm sure they will respond.

The H-D grab rails from a standard Ultra (2005) listing fit mr 06 Ultra -cvo just fine.  The speakers do not touch the rails

Never been on a back seat (other than a strange Halloween episode ??? ).  So have no experience with using these things.  Also have never had them on any bike I've ever owned.  Have had a few passengers who have experience them on other bikes though.  No one ever really complained for their loss though.

Have no intention of adding them.  Never unwilling to learn what works (and why) though.  Might need it someday.  So, are these things really all that helpfup or comforting or supporting?  Is the crutch more mental or physical?

I can understand certain types of back problems using these as a real benefit for mount and dismount.  Is that their primary service assist?  Or is it a ride thing too?

I use them as a bungy attachment point when I have luggage as a passenger instead of my wife!!  She likes them to be there cause they make her feel safer...

are these that rails that come along the sides from under the TP to the front bag guard?  That's an awesome bungy attachment place.  I think part of it is mental for the BSR.  They simply don't know where to put their hands.

These are the hand rails that used to come stock on baggers that actually mount (attach) under the seat.  The hand rail portion of the bracket locates on either side of the passenger seat about at seat height - just in front of the speakers on an Ultra and just above the saddle bags...hope that describes it well.  I am sure someone will have a picture to post.
