[Here's the breakdown:

2008 FLHTCUSE3 $34,250ish (don't have the paperwork in front of me)
Delivery (pre-printed on purchase agreement) $160
Tax $2200ish
$36,500 OTD

Plus all this for free
$500.00 worth of free rain gear (they e-mailed a web coupon last night and honored it for the purchase)
$914 for 5 year extended warranty (paid lowest price they would go for 4 years, and by buying at the time of bike purch. they throw in 1 extra year)
T-shirts
1000 mile service

I think I did OK.  It's still a LOT of $$, but the ride home in 50 degree temps was GREAT.  Got to try out the heated seat and grips.  Now I just need to get the heated kneecaps installed and I'll be fine.  How much do chaps help?  I think I'll get a pair.

Man, you did better than "OUTSTANDING', that was "GREAT!"  You get it less than MSRP which is $34995.  I drove 235 miles to get mine at $500 over.  Wish Houston had just one dealership like that.  There is about six within a 50 radius.
Ride safe.   :2vrolijk_21:

They've got a SERK and a SE springer sitting on the floor right now if any of you are looking...  The coupon for the $500 worth of rain gear is good through the 18th.  I didn't really do anything special to get the lower than list pricing.  I only asked how much and they gave me that number.

Holy poops!  I was just thrilled to get a CVO at MSRP.  The idea of getting it below sticker never came up.

But as far as I'm concerned, anyone wearing our countr's flag on their uniform deserves it.

08 Inferno Orange SE Springer MSRP

Bike was on showroom; did not require money down to hold; was from out of state; had never been to dealer before

New England dealers typically are good to deal with

I will look at the heated gear.  Do you buy the H-D stuff or is there another brand I should look at? :-\

Sorry took so long to reply (and for the minor hijack). I purchased the HD stuff because it was it was the easiest to get my hands on. It's made by Gerbing (www.gerbing.com) and you can find the Gerbing stuff around. There are a couple of other brands, but the Gerbing looked to be the best option.

I have made a deposit on a Canyon Copper 08 Ultra at $1,500 over MSRP including freight, set-up, doc fees, and some dealer goodies.

If anyone is looking this weekend Crossroads Harley-Davidson in North Wilkesboro, NC had a SE Springer in Anniv. Color and a SE Ultra in White both priced at MSRP plus freight and set up on the show room floor.

Yo
Been gone for a while. I paid MSRP for my 07 Ultra. I love the bike. No problems at all. (Wish I did not just say that) over 8500 miles and she runs like I stole her.

End of the day this is one of the things that makes our country great. You want it, this is the price. You don't want to pay that move on down the line. Its all about the freedom of choice and the freedom of the ride.

Be safe my brothers and sisters.

Amen to that Kaz.  As consumers, we often complain that sellers are marking up their prices just to line their pockets.  The way I see it, the opportunity to work hard, name your price and be successful (or fail) on your own merits is what makes this country the great nation that it is.  Not only do people "have to make a living".  But in the U.S.A., everyone is free to make their living the way they want to.

Sure I'd love to pay less for my Harley and my TV and my car.  But I sure as hell wouldn't want to live in a place where some agency tells sellers how much they are allowed to make.  The insurance companies are trying to do that to doctors and look how well that's working out!

God Bless America and her market-based economy.

Glenn...give Mobile HD a call in Alabama and talk to David Howell.  Tell him I sent you. They are MSRP and might have one coming in.  It's only about 225 miles from B'ham, so arrangements could be made.  I'll keep it for you during the cold months up there.... :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2:

That is another great thing about this site. Everybody wants to help out. If you have a question...you get an answer. If you have a opinion you will get many back. We share in the excitement of each rider and their bikes and respect one another. I am proud to be a member. There are a lot of groups that could learn from this site all over the world.

OK I must have taken another happy pill.
