Hey Dave,

Were doing pretty good...

Josh is still going back and forth to Louisville for therapy during the week...the only difference
is he is driving himself.  He uses a walker most of the time now...but the left leg is still week and
has a little foot drop. We are trying to get insurance to cover a electronic device to help him walk
more normal. We are only 11 months into this and we are hoping he will continue to improve.

I put in one of my posts that "its a journey...like crossing the county in 1st gear only"...it will take
a while but I have faith we will get there!

I do miss all of you guys very much and to miss MV has made me grumpy...hahah!
Tell Helen hello...and God Bless you and all who read this.

Barry,
Glad to hear Josh is making progress.  Keep on the insurance company.  I've been in your shoes and if you make an appeal, they almost always grant it!  They just think everyone is a scam artist and deny everything the first time around.  Keep us posted.  You guys have been on my mind a lot lately.  Tell Jess I said hey!

Love you guys,

Here at the Holidays is always a good time to remember all that we have to be thankful for and how we all have the power to make things better.

I haven't passed along any posts on Josh lately.  Here is the one Karen made this post this morning with a year in review and update on Josh.

 WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 10, 2008 11:32 AM, CST

Morning,

I have spent some time this morning reading my posts from last year. And again, I am in awe of just how far Josh has come. This time last year he was secretly working on standing up and sitting in his wheelchair. The therapy girls didn't know we were doing this! But what is striking, is that he needed my complete help in doing this. Just a simple maneuver really, stand, twist, and sit. Now, he is walking everywhere, driving and very seldom needs assistance with anything.

I also remember when he came home for Christmas last year, how Barry and Chris had to carry him upstairs in his wheelchair, so he could shower. The thought last year, of him actually walking up and down our stairs, was not even imagineable. He is doing this with fairly significant ease now. Of course holding to the railing, but still tackling the stairs, daily, to shower and get cleaned up.

I remind you all of this, to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts, for your prayers and concern. I am still humbled daily, with the enormous amount of compassion that so many have shown us. I can only imagine, what feat's, he'll have accomplished, this time next year! I look with great hope and anticipation, to see God's miraculous hand continue to move on Josh's body.

Have a beautiful day :) Much Love, Karen

Great news!! Makes you think about all the little insignificant things we complain about in our normal day to day life. We should be looking at all the blessings we receive everyday!

I just saw this thread for the first time and read thru it.  My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family. Perseverance and a will to challenge yourself everyday is a a gift.  Having a loving, devoted family to support him like this is just awesome.  So great to read his progress.  All the best for your family.  Ted
